Where Ya Curly Mustaches At?! Marvel vs Capcom 3 Hype Thread of Scoops!

I don't want anything Disney anywhere near the vs games. :/

Anyway, I repeat my previous wishful thought of wanting Ada included in the roster. Having Ruby Heart return would be pretty awesome but probably unlikely depending on how many characters they're adding. Not enough love for female pirates in games!

disney vs capcom on wii

Bullshit?. Only 3 or 4 days to know.

nah, come on, obviously just another "wii is for teh kiddez" joke.

on the other hand, if that was true, i would re-buy a wii just to beat the crap out of mickey mouse.

Hopefully this news is true and if so, please release it on PC with quarter lobbies and spectating support.

Even though people may see that person's post as another jab at the Wii, I wouldn't be surprised about Disney Vs Capcom.. and Disney characters would look great on the TVC engine as well.

If further rumors were true with MVC3 running on SFIV engine, MVC3 being PS360 and this Disney vs Capcom game could be real.

I'd buy it.

I come into this thread "secretly" desiring neither of those games get made.

Within the Vs series, I no longer see a point for the inclusion of Capcom characters. So much time has passed since the last game that the old progression of the series is no longer relevant and the cross over doesn't really make sense anymore. Why is everyone favorite super hero/villain fighting some random (and too often obscure) japanese video game character? Capcom is the weak link in the line-up.

What I'd prefer to see in order:

Marvel Vs. DC - Ain't gonna happen, but would be very cool.

Marvel Vs. [Marvel] ...aka MSH2 - Without the Capcom characters getting in the way, they're free to include every mainstream and obscure, fan-service character anyone could want.

Nintendo Vs. Capcom - Its the only instance that I can see a purpose to including the Capcom characters. I also think this is more plausible than that "Disney vs. Capcom for Wii" in the rumor above.

Disney Vs. Capcom - Only if it meant the inclusion of Darkwing Duck and re-releases of Capcom's NES Disney games. It will inevitably be marred by the appearance of Jack Sparrow ...one from each movie, while every other character asks "where is Jack Sparrow," and his super being a stampede of thousands of jack sparrows just to annoy us all... so says I, Davy Jones.

Marvel Vs. Street Fighter - At least the Capcom side is focused.

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 - I'll take what I can get... that's why I bought Tatsunoko Vs Capcom.

I am positive Capcom holds the Marvel fighting license as of the current generation. A few years back when Capcom was releasing Capcom vs. SNK 2 with online play for PS2/XBX, they also released a PS2/XBX port of Marvel vs Capcom 2 without online play. During this time, another company, either Activision or EA, held the Marvel fighting game license. I remembered reading somewhere that though Capcom did not currently hold the license, they were able to release a straight port of MvC2 but without changing the source code. Adding online play means changing the source code, which is what we see now with current gen, and we know EA doesn't have the fighting license anymore.
But... The Japanese ps2 port of marvel had online play...

I'm lazy...here are my copy & pasted hopes from else where

I would expect an updated version of the SF4 engine. Look at how the MT Framework has turned out. The characters will be smaller and have more detail than the Street Fighter 4 models. More difficult to pin down would be what art style Capcom has decided to go with. As far a rooster size...I say be prepared for a good bit of DLC, but a smaller rooster than MvC2 but similar to SSF4. Like most have said more of the recently popular Marvel characters will show up; Deadpool, redesigned Iron Man, Moonlight Knight, etc. Taking a page out of the Arc System Works page alternate versions of fighter would be a neat idea. Zombie, Civil War, Earth X, Anime/Manga etc for some Marvel fighters like Spiderman, Ironman or Hulk. And as a balance Capcom variations from different games SF4/SF2010/Alpha SF Ken and so on in so forth. This feature would play into the universe crossover plot.

Due to TvC on Wii I'd suspect a version of the game with different characters from the 360/PS3 game developed on an updated TvC engine.

Anime Ironman Trailer (Starts this month iirc)
Anime Wolverine Trailer (Starts this Summer)

If all else fails a series reboot would work fine for me

I think you mean Moon Knight, right? Moonlight Knight is from Sailor Moon :lol

I've noticed a lot of people vying for MK. Has he had a strong presence in comics lately? I've always loved the design when I collected Marvel Trading Cards as a kid, but never managed to find any comics with him in them so I only know his basic background and that's it.

Personally on the Marvel side, I'd love to Black Cat, Cloak and Dagger, Deadpool, Adam Warlock (yeah I know kinda silly, but I always thought he was badass), and Thor. I'd be so set with these guys.

Hes had somewhat of a resurgence as of late. That, and his membership on the new secret avengers means that he will become more popular.

All right, I'll join in.

Top 5's -

Marvel
Doctor Strange
Daredevil
Ant Man
Banshee
Mr. Fantastic

Capcom
Arthur
Mike Haggar
Nathan "Rad" Spencer
Trojan
Phoenix Wright

*note: we aren't getting any of these.

I think it's a fun concept.

Beast (Beauty and the Beast) vs. Blanka
Simba vs. Amaterasu
Mickey vs. Arthur

If they bring in the obscure capcom chracters to balance with the wackey disney characters, it could be really great. :D

If it's Powerstone stylee it could be the defining videogame of this generation.

So I'm guessing Viper is gonna be this game since she's the closest thing to a Marvel character in SF4.

Did you somehow miss the flying guy dressed in a cheesy red dictator outfit with a cape bent on taking over the world for the last 20 years?

I don't even understand what this means, even with your later explanation.

ANY SF character is fair game for MVC3. If allows for virtually all styles of combat. The problem comes with balance as characters without air dashes/projectile options (or some other insane option like a screen covering assist) get shafted to low tier. That's just how MVC is... which is why Marvel characters dominate with some exceptions.

About the only non-projectile non-aerial dash character I have seen that is actually played on a good tier in MVC is Cammy from the Capcom side. That and Ken because of his glitched Hurricane Kicks...

Aerial dashes is something they can give to anyone though. See TvC. No reason why every character can't double jump and airdash.

And that was why TvC offered a nice fix to the problem. Since it was a game that was built from the ground-up, they were allowed to do more with the game and its characters. For example, pretty much everybody on the Capcom side had air-dashes, except for Alex. And even there, the guy could hold his own thanks to having a nice answer to pretty much everything.

The problem with the old Marvel vs. games was that, since pretty much everything was ripped verbatim from older games, that much guaranteed that there were going to be balancing issues from the jump. The likes of Storm and Magneto haven't changed THAT much since their first appearances in COTA. So little wonder why they ended up STILL being good years later. :lol

I'd like to think that whatever engine they're using as a basis this time, it would allow them the ability to do like what TvC did. And frankly, that's perhaps what I'm most looking forward to seeing, people who basically want "Super MvC2 Turbo" be damned. :lol

We need some EGO up in this bitch:

And I agree with that.

But the top tiers would still be those who can 8 way dash ala Magneto, Storm, Sentinel. Personally I don't want to see 8 Way Dash being removed from the game but I would like to see better counters against it.

If it's being built from the ground up then we can expect some major changes in the basic game play.

Marvel super heroes 2 would be amazing if they can't get mvc3 out

I think I would prefer to start off with Marvel Super Heroes 2 instead of jumping right into MvC3.

And as cliche and worn-out as it is. Civil War would probably be the story-line be suited to this. It allows pretty much every main stream character thus a big roster (plus hulk). Then maybe blend a little dark reign into there because I think Void would be an awesome final boss.

I'm calling it--not gonna be Capcom characters in this game.

It's just going to be a Marvel fighting game by Capcom. Title-wise, "Marvel vs Marvel", "Marvel Super Heroes 2", or simply "Marvel 3" would work fine. I think they'll probably go with Marvel 3 to give it legit fighting game cred.

You know those things they have when people have a gambling problem? An intervention? You could use one of those. I can tell you're not a lucky man.
