Maybe because there's no Marvel vs Capcom 3 and this is all for Rise of the Imperfects 2? :lol

I'm pretty surprised so many gaffers 100% sure that this is MVC 3. I mean there's a big chance but...imagine the meltdown! :lol

Rise of the Imperfects 2 won't happen. If anything, we just don't get MvC3.

I think his appearance in TvC sated some of the fans, but best believe, I'll be pissed if he and Silvia dont make it in MvC3.

I'm working on some writing, trying to keep busy -- but, yeah, I have to agree with you :lol The sad thing is, the stuff I want to hear probably won't be revealed tomorrow ... like whether Nova makes in it lol

As a side note, at least it'll be a packed day - the Halo: Reach embargo ends, too.

Please. The ANNOUNCEMENT, and getting confirmation that it's coming, are the easiest part.

But all that noise that stems from this game coming at the end of this year at the earliest, with it coming out next year also being probable?

Y'know thinking about those rumor details, the curious use of "on disc" in regards to roster size seems to foreshadow character DLC down the road. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

I dunno.

Charging for character unlocks is the kind of thing that I don't think even Capcom would entertain for something like this. Especially if it's still aiming to be a respectable, competitive game that could be seen at EVO next year.

Then there's the notion that both TvC and SF4 alike didn't do any such thing, even as SF4 decided to charge in other areas that were not crucial to the gameplay experience itself.

Go ahead and charge for more costumes and stages. Then go ahead and charge 20-30 bucks for the update/expansion, if you must. But charging for characters? Nah...I'd like to think Capcom would be above at least THAT much.
 
If it's character unlocks for stuff on disc, that'll be some bullshit. If it's unlocks from a pack like the Burnout Paradise DLC, I'd be fine with that.

Don't want to segment the online.

When I first clicked on this thread last week, I told myself not to get my hopes up.
But I firmly believe, I KNOW, this game is coming out now.

And being at work, I can't visit kotaku or anything. You guys are my prime source of news...
I NEED INFO!!!! Rumors, speculation, anything...

And echoing some of the sentiments in here, DLC characters would be lame. Though I would buy all of them and hate myself for doing it.

Basically the Kotaku article said that no news from Captivate is hitting before 9am tomorrow, Kotaku time.

Sure, I can give you a completely random rumor -- someone over at the Shoryuken forums said that Shuma-Gorath was shown at Captivate :lol I'm just so happy to share this, because so many people here are pissed it was even in MvC2 -- and, if it turns out to be one of the first revealed, oh the irony!
 
That puts a bad, pessimistic taste in my mouth. What if MvC3 is just taking ALL the characters from MvC2, adding just a few more, and making it 3D?

Yeah, I wouldn't be happy with that either -- although, I think the guy got banned ... which is interesting, they usually do that when people have accurate leaks there. He said a few other minor things -- he did say Shuma-Gorath animated awesome, which is why they showed that particular character, for the level of animation.

However, take it with a HUGE grain of salt - I don't necessarily believe it, but it was a rumor, so I shared :P

What the fuck is the deal with SHUMA GORATH? What is it supposed to be? Is it like some sort of villain from the Marvel universe? I have never seen it in a comic book show or in a cartoon or in a movie. He is literally the most random character inclusion in MVC2. I think I heard somewhere that he may have appeared in some Fantastic Four comic or what not... which brings me to the question WHY THE FUCK IS NO ONE FROM FANTASTIC FOUR IN A MVC GAME YET? :lol

Well at least he has a kick ass super... CHAOS DIMENSION! :D

Shuma-Gorath is a fictional character created by Robert E. Howard, but better known for its later interpretations as a demon and Lord of Chaos appearing in the Marvel Universe. It is also well known for being a playable character in the Marvel Super Heroes video game, and made subsequent appearances in the Marvel vs. Capcom series.

That...doesn't bother me actually. If they are using him as a tech demo, I don't mind if he gets included.

Shuma-Gorath was a FF/Dr. Strange villian, if I remember correctly. I assume they threw him into MvC2 since they had his sprite from Marvel Super Heroes.

TRIVIA: He was given the name by Robert E. Howard before he died.
 
Personally, I don't understand the lack of the Fantastic 4, either ... I think this game will rectify some of the previous omissions.

If you want more rumor-mongering/trolling another guy said they showed the following (along with Shuma-Gorath): Colossus, Iron Man, Juggernaut, Sentinel, Storm, Magneto, Cable & Wolvie with Sakura, Roll, Servbot, T.Bonne, Hsien-Ko, Zero, Chris Redfield and Dante on Capcom's side

It's just too many names this early on, so I'm on the trolling side with this one.

As part of his post, he said there were tons of "?" boxes with unlocked characters -- these were just the one's that were supposedly playable. Although, I dunno -- I'm thinking the game wasn't playable at Captivate which is why I'm skeptical.
