Why not? She's perfect in TvC, and she's at least a worthy joke character in MvC2. Although I could imagine not wanting her in just to give other characters a chance, since I think she's been in more vs. games than Mega Man.

Nah, I'm just not interested in her as a fighter. Grimm and Johnny work well as straight-up brawlers, and Reed would fight the style of the game well (he would have in MvC2 anyway), but Sue's powers would probably come out as either cheap or useless.
 
Man I hope that roster leak is bogus. I was hoping trash like sakura, roll and servbot would sit this one out.

And wtf is wrong with you people thinking Shuma was a Capcom character? Haven't you played Marvel Super Heroes? If you answer no, then rectify it!

See Briarios' post above. Like he says, I'm 99% sure it's fake. Doesn't seem plausible for Capcom to reveal that much of the roster off the bat... given how far away the game is from release, I expect that to happen very, very slowly.
 
On my very late note on Shuma Gorath: I like how the wikipedia entry makes it look like he is more famous for being in a Marvel vs Capcom game as compared to his original entry in some comic... which would be true. :lol
 
Play Marvel Super Heroes it's a great game and the one that introduced me to the franchise. I used to pick Blackheart all the time even though I didn't know who he is just because he looked bad ass.

Bolded are the characters that would be new to MVC. Having just Dante and Zero makes up for many wrongs done to the Capcom side in the past. Would've prefered someone like Talbain over Hsien-Ko and Wesker over Chris but hey... Capcom at least seems to have the right idea. Also what the HELL at the Marvel roster being ALL X-men! Someone needs to tell Capcom that there ARE super heroes in Marvel outside of X-men, Hulk, Cap. America and Spider Man!

I hope most of popular request characters from MvC2 return along with more characters that support franchises that haven't debut in MvC2; for example, Breath of Fire, Phoenix Wright, Rival School, Devil May Cry, Ghoul and Goblin and etc.

I would love to see this ... I'd really like Akira from Rival schools ... she'd be cool. I definitely want someone from DMC and BoF, too.

I don't think it was a thing that was personal against those other dudes. It was just a thing that it was convenient because the sprites existed already, for the sake of MvC2. :lol

Now that we should ideally be "starting over", everything is up in the air once again. And I really would like to see some nice off-kilter picks on both sides.

Red Arremer, Gallon/J. Talbain, Gene the God Hand, VAVA/Vile..and that's just the Capcom side! :lol

I don't know if they'll go too obscure. Depending on the consoles it's on, they might play it safe with regards to the roster for financial reasons, like SF4.

It's probably too late now, but a great promotion Capcom could do for the game is reserve a couple character slots and have them filled by fan polls.

Yeah I'd love to see Akira. I'm still betting we will see most if not all of the MvC2 roster redone with 3D models with new characters. If Roll was brought back, I hope she's her TvC self and not her Joke Mega Man clone self.

Speaking of which, I;m curious. In MvC and even CVS Capcom made a lot of characters by just importing Alpha and Darkstalker sprites. How likely/possible would it be for them to import SFIV and/or TvC models to fit them into the game?

I'd like to think at least 5 slots per side could be reserved for "interesting picks".

After all, past games in the MAHVEL-style continuum didn't always play it safe. Even COTA, the very first of these, bucked a few trends by not adding in the likes of Rogue and Gambit (and this was early 90s, in the midst of when the cartoon was airing on Fox, no less!). Fans of those guys had to wait until Xmen vs. SF came out some years later. :D

And relatively speaking, Marvel vs. Capcom the first was easily the most surprising, because the likes of Cap'n Commando, Rockman and friggin' Strider Hiryu and Jin Saotome joined the ranks.

So, for a game like this, that's purely run on 90s-style nostalgia especially? I think they would be doing a disservice without a few surprises here and there, even as they must account for what the last decade has to offer on both sides.

I'm not familiar with her character in TvC, so you'll have to forgive my ignorance on that fact, but her character brought basically nothing interesting to MvC2. And with roster space (potentially) being limited in MvC3 compared to MvC2, I just think there are a lot of other character that are more worthy of her roster spot.

The guy who leaked that supposed roster information was exposed as a troll anyway.
