The last game was a combination of characters/sprites developed for the previous 5+ years.

Yes, it's unfortunate that there isn't some magical 2-D sprites to 3-D models converter.

I'm sure that there are production reasons for the decreased cast number that several franchises underwent through in the transition to this gen, this one being yet another franchise added to the list. However, the existence of an explanation doesn't mean that I must like their choices.

Anyway, I'll drop this matter, but I had already posted even before this announcement about how I'd be disappointed with this possible choice.

If Spider-Man gets revealed, I half-expect it to be alongside Felicia, if only for the Black Cat comparison.

Also, I wonder if Marvel would be willing to do a DVD with animated segments based on the game. Let each one have a Marvel character fighting/helping a Capcom character, or vice versa. I would love to see a flying segment with Ironman and Morrigan fighting and flirting with each other, like in the teaser.

Well, cutting out between 25 and 30 characters from MvC2 seems like a pretty big deal. I can see getting rid of Shuma-Gorath, Serv-Bot, Roll, B.B. Hood, Cable and a few others, but there are actually very few characters on the roster that I didn't use regularly.

What I'm wondering is whether the combo system will remain the same with each character having the same Aerial Rave, or will each character have its own combo system with individual depth and style. The Aerial Rave system added a lot of accessibility for players to use characters that they weren't familiar with, because if you could figure out their launcher, you were pretty much okay.

Exactly this for me. I get why there is a smaller roster. That doesn't make me less disappointed. I want more characters. They can certainly create more characters, right? It takes more time and money though. I still want more characters. Pretty simple.

Still great news though, I am elated.

Has everyone here forgotten about Ruby Heart? What about her?

Not me. I would be pleased if she was in another game. Seems like a waste if not.

The Kotaku article states that remixes of all the old tracks will be present.

The game will also have an eclectic and robust mix of music, with at least 100 pieces including remixes of favorites from previous Marvel Vs. Capcom games as well as some new music.

After seeing how awesome a modern versus game can be in the rebalanced US version of TvC, F**K THAT SH*T with crying for a billion characters. If you want to mash buttons while using the like three viable teams in MvC2, go play that game.

Gimme MvC3 with 32 characters say, actual balance (by versus standards) and a usable cast with no also-rans wasting space. The great thing about TvC is that /every single character/ is awesome and you see a huge variety of teams. If MvC3 breaks the Marvel series tradition of boiling down to a handful of viable teams, I'm happy.

Hopefully War Machine will be in the game since he is in the new iron movie. All of DMC crew needs to be there, Dante, Vergil/Nero Angelo, Nero, Trish and Lady. Samanosuke from Onimusha should be in the game but I doubt it since that means paying some royalites to Takeshi Kaneshiro.

I was thinking it was invisible woman with that pose, but with super skrull being so noticeable I didn't think it was her. I think you have it nailed though.
