Thats 38 characters. I expect they will choose the most popular characters from the movies. Also many Capcom IPs, after all Capcom can't just copy and paste Street Fighter Alpha sprites anymore:lol . I don't expect characters to hit the 40's because they have to start from scratch and can't reuse sprites, plus Capcom has confirmed that there will be character specific story, and with a 40+ cast, that would be a huge task.

Another thing, I remember someone saying in this thread that one of the Capcom execs said they are having problems with getting rights to sime characters (what if its Spiderman, I hope not).

I support this list. I totally agreed with variable of characters.
 
Is the lack of Spider-Man really that intresting? I mean both Wolverine and Iron Man are about to have anime's based on them debut in Japan. Following that logic it makes perfect since that they are introduced as well as the fact they both share a huge past relationship with Hulk making it easy to see why he is the third character.

Spidey although Marvel's single most popular character (At least this is what I have heard, so correct me if I am wrong.) doesn't mean he is the only one. Wolverine also one of the very few that shares that level of Fandom, not to mention as said before the Anime coming out staring him and the fact when they brought out MvsC II on PSN and X360 all the other they released very much showed a rivalry between Wolvie and Ryu so it would make since to continue that battle.

One last thing, who better to introduce Fighting X (probably Rock but still I am routing for X since he hasn't been in a fighter yet.) then Spidey after it cuts away from Hulk and Chris?

Like I said in a post earlier its the shading. The actual models are fine and the inking is fine. But the shading inside of that isn't too great, its too heavy and saturated. Although the ryu character model look much different than his "character render" so I don't know.

I fixed up Wolvy because he looked the worst to me. This was a quick photoshop edit but this is what I think they should aim for. Well I mean to say something along these lines.

But then again, SFIV looked way off at first - and the Iron Man render actually looks good. So theres obviously still subject to change (as the trailer said)
 
I hope this game has the same speed as MVC2. That screen shot of Ryu from the trailer looks awesome. I like his character model on this game compared to SFIV Gears.
 
Wow, that trailer was awesome. I'm excited to get SSFIV in a week or so and this is definitely something I'll be looking forward to.

I dont get what youre trying to do here, it looks like your cat walked over your keyboard and hit a bunch of weird filters.

The rendering style theyre going for in game is very Jae Lee inspired

If Liefeld created comics, and his comics are bad, then yeah he is a horrible creator. Now he isnt the devil like some people made him out to be and he wasnt the only person to make a bad comic during the 90s but just cause he was popular doesnt mean he is a good creator. Frankly, his shit sucked and he has never improved.

Yeah, Liefeld sucked pretty much. I was a big fan of Brett Booth and Jim Lee's artwork back in the early/mid 90s.

Like I was saying earlier it would make sense for Capcom to give Thanos a bunch of buffs, though the only guy stronger is Apocalypse...And you know how ironic it would be if he were a lower tiered character.

Wow. :lol That was harsh! All I did was quickly remove the colors and I replaced them with flats. I did however lighten up the inking so the outline could come through. I was going for a Mike Mignola/Adam hughes style. :P Like I said I have no problem with the anatomy or the inking.

They could be going for that style. Fine, but what they have still looks bad. Yes they both have great inking - but the coloring on the Jae Lee cover is amazing as opposed to the wolvy render. It looks like they went crazy with the dodge and burn tools!

Mine may be too desaturated but I honestly think it looks better (however slight) then what Ive seen. I think Iron man though, again, looks great.

I wouldn't expect a SSF4T, or SF4: Third Strike or w/e for quite a while. If they DO make a 3rd SFIV, I see that in 2012 at the earliest, and honestly at that point it would be better to hold out for the next generation of consoles, and do a proper Street Fighter V.

And Street Fighter V should be the proper reboot SFIII was supposed to be.

But back to MvC3 now :D
 
I'm hyped for this game for the simple chance that Dante might be in it.
Oh and Chris Redfield? Is there going to be a bonus stage where we get to push a boulder around? :lol

I think Ono said that there wouldn't be a turbo. I believe that they made it so if they wanted to do something like that it would be implemented through DLC. May have been in an interview not sure where it is though.

but then again ... could be a very underground char like Saki or a bizarre char like "the girl pilot from the 1942 plane" =P
