I don't really care, but i saw the ridiculous overreactions about Balatro's nomination due to not being in 3D and it was very funny, so there goes my vote.

I cry about Xbox and hate PlayStation.
Would there be that much drama?

I finished the game 3 times. I can't ever recall doing this with a game, I never even bother with an NG 99.99% of the time. It was damn good.

Or the drama would be the purple hair weirdos being triggered?
this.

When Astrobot wins Nintendo basicly won the Game Awards.
The video comparing Astro to Nintendo IPs is super fun.

Only played two so far.

Astrobot because I liked it.

I think Wukong is great but needs a bit more work post release, but I like it alot.

Looking to play Elden Ring...

There is only one choice here: Astrobot.

People whine and complain about Sony not making kid-friendly games. Then they drop a 94-MC "must-play" 3D platformer that is a genuine competition to Mario games.

If now people don't support it, why would Sony - or anyone else for that matter - make such games? The success of Astrobot could revitalize developers and publishers' interest in games like Banjo Kazooie as well. So it's a win-win for everyone if Astrobot wins.

I'll be happy with anything but Belatro. Not that Belatro isn't great(it is), but it isn't the type of game I think should win this thing. I would have rather seen Silent Hill 2, Unicorn Overlord , Infinite Wealth, Stellar Blade, 9 Sols, or even Sparking Zero in its place in the goty category but I understand. Glad Belatro got recognized but maybe it get recognized a little too heavily for my flavor.

That said, the Veilguard snub when UO didn't get snubbed, that's a win my men. That's a win. Based Geoff struck again.

The most fun I've had this year? Probably Erdtree with my brother. Metaphor isn't a perfect game but at the same time it is, so I voted for that one.

Shadow of the Erdtree, it gave me the best gaming experience this year.

But Astro Bot honestly deserves it more since Erdtree is an expansion and those have never been nominated in the past as far as I know.

The textbook definition of a contrarian. I love it.

No Silksong? = Delivering the pain.
I really want Astro Bot to win because it really brings the joy back to gaming. It’s wholesome fun. Also, I want it to win as proof that someone other than Nintendo can reach the heights of their best platformers.

It won’t happen but Balatro winning would send a positive message to the entire industry. Focus on creativity, originality, games that are smart and rewarding instead of chasing graphics and nostalgia.

But yeah Wukong or ER will win, simple matter of numbers.

It's not gonna happen because for Doritos Pope and his crew of *professional reviewers* it is"le kiddie gaem" but AstroGOAT totally deserves it
I actually think that Astro Bot is the frontrunner.
Is the most loved game by the reviewers at least.

Astro Bot is a good game that is boosted like 30% because of its fanservice. Not sure it is GOTY.

Balatro is a really stupid game and it does not belong on that list. Erdtree should not win and it's weird they seemingly changed the rules after a DLC that IMO had a better claim was not even nominated last year. Black Myth Wukong is not one of the best games of the year and I want to know how much yuan Keighley got for putting it there. So that leaves FF7R or Metaphor and either is a good choice. But there are better games like UFO50, SH2, and LAD IW not nominated.

Astrobot or Metaphor.

Showing that you don't need zillions of dollars are hundreds of people to make quality games.

Is it not silly to hold an awards show before major releases have released…. I can easily see Stalker 2 being in the discussion this year.

I’ve gone for Wukong with Balatro being a close second.

Even though none of these games really scream GOAT tier to me, I wouldn’t have an argument against any of them winning.

Balatro because it's the best game not just of this year, but of this gen so far. Id prefer not Elden ring, as it's a dlc and not a game, shouldn't even be nominated. I also wouldn't mind Wu Kong. Just for some melt downs from certain type of people in the Internet.

Let me put my 🤡 mask, oh, I already was wearing it.

first things first:

1. None, I don't care.
2. Elden Ring, after Sony acquires Kadokawa: Meltdowns? Yes. Conspiracy theories? YES.
Geoff waited to nominate a DLC from a company that Sony is going to acquire. WHY? well, we all know why.

Lego horizon.

No in all seriousness I nominate helldivers 2, haven’t had so much fun in a game for a long time. Laughing and having a blast is what matters when you work in finance.

The game that i want to win didnt get nominated, so ill go with the unorthodox choice in Erdtree DLC, just because itd be really funny if Geoff hired the kid from last time to make an appearance.
