If you had to bet, do you think The Game Awards will have a bigger reveal than Summer Games Fest's Resident Evil Requiem reveal?

Obviously, "bigger" is a bit subjective, but I think RE9 was the biggest reveal yesterday. I don't think it was a massive reveal though given it was a matter of when, not if it was coming out. Though I'm really excited for it, I love RE.

If you had to bet right now, do you think we'll be coming away from TGA thinking it had a bigger reveal than RE9 or no?

oh man, SGF isn't even fully done yet. Lets enjoy the hype of today before fantasizing about 6 months from now.

The Game Awards is the biggest showcase of the year, of course it will. It's the only event that celebrates gaming, I can't remember the last one that didn't have huge surprises.

Yep. If Hl3.exe is ever gonna show up its in the game awards. Like how Okami 2 just appeared out of thin air last year.

The Game Awards will be bigger in my opinion. While there was a few nice suprises at Summer Game Fest, I am glad I wasn't awake for how dog shit it all was in terms of pacing and how it was executed.

I miss the old ways when E3 was on fire. I am just glad we got the XBOX one tomorrow to hopefully get some nice showings of some stuff, and I just want xbox to fully go all the way third-party mega publisher-wise and use this as that for the statement and be done with it.

I do like having that end-of-the-year placement for stuff. Works well.

I would bet. TGA always has huge announcements. The Witcher 4, Bayonetta 3, Xbox Series X, Mortal Kombat 11, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and Death Stranding 2, just to name a handful.

How the fuck is Re a big reveal? For fucks sakes they're on #9. At this point it's expected like what the fuck are people on about

Game awards is when Bloodborne is announced

I do not worship the Dorito Pope nor do I follow his doctrines and edicts. In the internet age, watching that glorified investor pitch live is a waste of time for the FOMO crowd. I will watch the trailers that interest me individually after the fact.

The Game Awards has always been the actual E3 replacement when it comes to Geoff's big reveals, for years at this point.

Re9 reveal being hyped so hard as if it's some legendary announcement is hilarious... Even Geoff was acting like he brought back some legendary series that's been absent for decades...when it was the next RE instalment in the... let's see how many games

A new Resident Evil? No way! I really thought the last 29 were the last...

Yes.
The game awards are usually better, with bigger reveals.

Summer games fest last year hardly had any relevant announcements (the Geoff event, the XBox one was cool). Meanwhile TGA 2024 had Witcher 4, Intergalatic, the new game by Fumito Ueda, Okamu 2, etc

SGF last year was dreadful, this time around it was pretty good. I really enjoyed it for the most part.

I love RE and bigger things can easily happen at the Xbox showing or at game awards end of year.

The RE9 Reveal was great simply because it had a release date. It's an announcement for a game that's not that far off. There was the leaks and rumors about a Jill and Leon game, an RE5 remake or a RE1 Re-remake and still it was none of that.

Are you seriously underestimating a new RE announcement? It consistently performs as one of the industry's highest selling and most anticipated series.

Resident Evil is pretty damn big overall. I count them by a few things

How much they sell
How high are they rated
How much positive reception do they have
How much fan support etc artwork cosplay, lore talk etc etc
How much hype do they generate.

Resident Evil seems to be pretty darn high in all of this which is why they're bigger than even some games that sells more than it like Monster Hunter, Hogwart, Wukong etc.

Resident Evil is now among one of the biggest franchises now, Capcoms ace. And only games like Fallout 5, Elder Scrolls, Witcher, GTA, and a new AAA Zelda and Half Life 3 could surpass it.

I never said anything about the game itself,it will be great as a game but why is it so special as an announcement the way everyone is acting? Was it some huge fucking surprise to anyone a new RE was coming or why exactly this much fanfare? All for a trailer that showed fuck and all.

The last one came out 2 years ago...not 10.

Village came out 4 years ago. Numbered RE games are always a big event, which holds true even for arguably the weakest entries like RE6.

I don't remember this much fuss being made over any of the other recent REs and those had way better announcement trailers, and I've played and have been excited for them all. I just find the extreme fanfare for RE9 way overblown, especially with a trailer that barely says anything.People reacting to it like it's Half Life 3 or some shit... it's bizzare...

No one expected it. RE9 is way too big for an event like this.

Resident Evil is a pretty big series these days--its always been my favorite, so I was happy to see it shown off finally.

But Game Awards will probably be much, much larger in big announcements, but I really don't like Geoff Keighley. I've hated him since the GameStop TV days.

It was nice to see him fix a lot of things wrong for last year's TGAs. Hopefully this year will be better also.

And stop getting celebrities to parade out there who don't play nor care about video games like Harrison Ford or Al Pacino.

Get people to present that "gamers know"(for lack of a better term) like, for example, get David Hayter or Jennifer Hale, or known head developers, announcing for other folks. It'd probably be better recieved.

It depends on what you mean by "big". A big reveal to some people could mean a surprising reveal that nobody expected. It could mean a reveal of a pie in the sky type game. It could mean a brand new IP from an acclaimed studio. RE is obviously a huge franchise, but not everyone may consider it the biggest reveal considering that we all knew Capcom is making a RE9.

Bruh, come on. There have been more than 30 FF games.

You don't think people would get excited if the next numbered mainline FF game gets announced?

I suppose you're right. It's just kind of weird compared to the previous RE reveals where I didn't feel were received quite with the same excitement.
