Gamecube to Wii.

I really like the IR pointer, it was very precise. Plus, there was a lot of squirming, it was hilarious. It was funny to see the powerfull ones get their asses beaten by the underdog.

The Switch was more of a regular console. It was a new concept sure, but it wasn't quite as disruptive as the Wii...

Wii was a revolution and Nintendo at their most innovative (and cheap), the hype was always snowballing and the conference speeches leading up were epic.

Switch was great but we knew what we were getting and it made perfect sense.

Wii was new ground and a great comeback, totally unexpected precontroller reveal for what was on paper an updated Gamecube.

The switch would have had a much more difficult time taking off if it wasn't for all the Wii U games they ported to it. I barely played my switch for the first few years since it was all games I already owned from the Wii U. It was a lousy time for me and others I bet that had a Wii U

What comeback? They never failed in the handheld market from what I remember. A well outside the bizzarre VR station.

Wii U to Switch by far. GameCube wasn't exactly a failure, it really just followed the downward trajectory we saw from the NES to SNES to N64. The Wii was a huge success saleswise, but became a shovelware dumping ground in it's second half. This was a big reason for the Wii U utterly failing, together with it not really offering anything new (except for a second screen nobody wanted). So the Wii, while very successful, didn't bring further success. It didn't make people want to buy the next one, and that almost killed Nintendo.

The Switch was an incredibly successful new concept (even though it was really just the Wii U idea executed much better), and it never devolved into the trash the Wii was at the end. The Switch 2 now keeps riding that wave, and while I don't think it will sell as much as the previous console, it will be a success. People want the new Switch, they didn't want the new Wii.

I had already lost faith in the Wii and Nintendo; I didn't even buy the Wii U because I couldn't bring myself to do it.

And I felt that the Switch was the same, but seeing games like Death Mark, mature games, and survival horror, the region-free access, and the external support, it was one of the best changes Nintendo made. I consider the Nintendo Switch the true spiritual successor to the SNES and the equivalent of the PlayStation 2 for the Nintendo brand.
