Eddie is that you?
Meta made the wrong move? How many $3500 headsets do you think Meta would sell?

A Quest Pro with sufficiently forward looking specs to back it up would sell very well IMO (unlike the rebadged Quest 2 they tried to peddle for $1500). It also wouldn't have to cost anywhere near $3500 without the Apple tax, and by ommitting stupid shit like the lenticular googly eyes display, saphire glass, aluminum/titanium body, and $3000 laptop SoC. You really just need a Quest 3 (as is) with the Vision Pro displays, eye trackers, and an integrated lossless or nearly lossless wireless streaming solution. And much better pass through cameras. A gaming PC or portable processing "puck" (think gaming laptop guts without a display/keyboard) in various configurations and prices would be required to power dual 6K equivalent displays though (each Vision Pro displays is ~50% more pixels than 4K), cause Qualcomm is like a decade away from pulling that off.

It's a good choice for the price but honestly if you're going to play exclusively on PC I would wait for Valve to announce their possible new headset to see the price.
I want the Meta Quest 2 because it's cheap can' t afford a new Valve headset, really.
