The correct answer is Aliens. I want it to be Aliens. Loves Aliens
Hardly, the correct answer is Ghost.

Aliens are statistically likely. While it would be a major shock to everyone, it wouldn't change our scientific view of the universe. Ghost though? That would shatter the scientific world, and make our entire understanding of the universe and ourselves change completely. The afterlife would be proven real (in some form)

Personally, ghosts would shock me more, because ghosts are more unlikely than aliens.

However, a good chunk of the world deadass believes in ghosts, so aliens would probably be more shocking to the world.

I think most rational people expect there to be aliens out there. Confirmation would be just that. Assuming they weren’t coming to eat us, I don’t think it would upend much.

Proof of existence after death and the ability to cross the veil?

That’s a whole different level, I think.

Ooh, hot take. Sure, Ghost is a pretty solid movie, but better than Aliens?

Ghosts.

Even many top scientists believe there's a high possibility that there's intelligent life elsewhere somewhere in the universe.

Most people don't believe in the soul or the afterlife. At least not those who are scientifically inclined.

Proving that there is life after death would be much bigger than proving intelligent life elsewhere. Knowing that when you die you're going to be going somewhere else or that it's not the end would be extremely huge.

That's a tough one. Although, I'm going with first contact.

For most of human history, and even today, many people already seem to believe in ghosts or some sort of afterlife by way of spirituality.
Humanity finally getting an answer to the question of whether or not we are alone in the universe would have far more profound ramifications imo.
The alien scenario would also address a lot of questions about the phenomenon of life, and intelligent life in particular.

Aliens. Lots of people already live as if there are ghosts and believe they can communicate with them. Not much would change if it were proved.

If they were technologically capable of visiting us, Aliens with advanced tech would completely disrupt human progress and upset our social systems.

Well… aliens come , ok we get used , learn etc. like district 9?

But ghost? With all the religions we have, people will get crazy… heaven , hell… etc . 😂

Such a good question

How about.... an alien who crash landed on earth thousand of years ago, give certain native american tribe certain tech, die and become a summonable ghost. If you know what i mean, you lose.

Ghosts, not even close.

Aliens are kinda science, it is idiotic to think that we are alone in such a gigantic universe.
Ghost are full on supernatural.

I'd say Aliens. While it's true that it's more scientifically likely Aliens exist than ghosts, if ghosts exist then we've already been living with them for ages, so not much changes just from there being proof. Aliens would change everything, though.

I'm a huge believer in the multiverse theory so it stands to reason that an alternate universe where the dead continue to live is a thing. As they are still classed as dead in that universe, they can be considered as ghosts or 'shadows' of their former living selves. And, by extension, if there is a universe where the dead roam, then it's only logical to assume that a universe exists where aliens - or even another Earth, or version of Earth - live. At least this is what the MCU has taught me. And Marvel never lie.

There's been a lot of officially sourced stuff about UFOs lately and most people didn't even pay attention to it. If ghosts were proven to exist that'd turn basically the whole scientific world upside down because there's no justification for it

Aliens landing would be more shocking.

Ghosts would be another news cycle for like a week, then people would move onto the next Will Smith slap.

Aliens landing would mean shit is about to change big time.

Definitely ghosts lol. I think most everyone acknowledges that it's pretty rational to expect aliens to be real.

If you're asking which changes the world more, aliens. Which shocks the world more, ghosts.

... unless the aliens look extremely ugly. That's pretty shocking.

Ghosts, as their existence would prove life beyond death and would send non-religious types to feel less remorse when murdering others, knowing that their souls will live in forever. There would be no morality, or hell, or fear of eternal nothingness if we were met with the personification of immortality.

Whereas Aliens would lead some to question the old religions and start a new religion of tech/science, so not much would change in the grand scheme of societal integrity. The science and the tech would replace the bible and quran etc, and God would be replaced with the highest order of aliens, while those that came to Earth would be seen as the missionaries. Same shit, different label.

Aliens are here already. And its not going to be a indepence day scenario .

Ghost. Or whatever you to like call them are real just beyond our understanding as of yet. A d there are multiple interpretations of these apparitions

Most are terrified of death (mostly due to relegion) because all your experiences, friends, family are suddenly lost (and bucket list stuff)

I get that fear. That you think you're losing you as a person. The thing is, you're still you when your bio computer breaks down

Personally I feel I'm consciousness expressing myself on this specific planet (and if I have to guess it's not my rodeo or planet for that matter) to gain experiences (including love) and maybe learn some shit along the way.

I feel we are ever evolving souls (if you will) that inhabit this biological computer we call a body.

Sorry just some 2222 cents
