Which year did E3 peak?

I think It was E3 2006 for me. It had real press conferences (with boosting) from all parties involved and a transition into next-gen (at that time)

Lots of media being shown from the floor and plenty of interviews and roundtables.

Compare that to this barebone of a shitshow we are seeing this summer. A bunch of trailers with little to no information about the games or developer interviews. I get that there is a pandemic going on, but what is stopping journalists from doing digital interviews? And not just controlled ones.

No one is pressuring sony about price nor releasedate of ps5. Good times!

2011 had

I guess around the beginning of ps360 wii gen, back then the internet was slower and we didn't have smartphones therefore we had e3 as THE source for everything gaming, now everything gets leaked beforehand.

Warning: I am incredibly biased but I have never been more excited at an E3 as I was in 2014 and for one reason.

The announcement of Phantom Dust reboot. I think I might have cried. It's my favorite game of all time.

Sadly, Phil and his cronies subsequently crushed those dreams after it was cancelled. they did release the original phantom dust on Xbox One and PC though with full crossplay support so I took that as a consolation.

Tough.... Sony 2015 was spectacular.... but so was 2004 with the TP unveil. Still remember the feels.

2000 when MGS2 brought videogames into the 21st century

Whether you like the final product or not, the fact is there's videogames before MGS2 and videogames after MGS2. Its the true apex of the medium and represents not only a culmination of everything learned from Pong onwards, but a transformative experience that set the groundwork for the games we play to this day. E3 would go on to have megatons, shockers, memes, but nothing could hope to top this moment when people saw God.

E3 2005. It had everything. And by everything I mean Jay Allard wearing a blazer with a hoody that zips at both ends all layered above a bright orange shirt.

I feel like the 90s E3s always had a mystique and aura that was never recaptured after they scaled E3 back for awhile and then it exploded again.

Whenever I watch old videos of like E3 1996 with Mario 64 and Crash and stuff it just seems so special.

For me it was E3 2004

Half Life 2, Doom 3, MGS3, Zelda reveal, Halo 2, GTA San Andreas, DMC3, God of War, unveiling of PSP and DS

I think it was the second E3 I paid attention to but the breadth and quality of the games that year still haven't been beaten

Back when E3 was mostly about PC games and new PC peripherals. As a MS, Sony and Nintendo console owner, I still say fuck consoles.

As a child the half life 2 demo and the unreal engine 3 video blow me away. Also, both babes. I read every issue of the hungarian gamestar, the summer e3 ones were the best :messenger_smirking:

There must be somewhere some Stargate game booth babe pic. I clearly remember but cant find

2006 was definitely peak.

MS knocked it out of the park, as did Nintendo with Wii. And Sony crumbled with Riiiiiiidgeeee Racer, Giant Enemy Crab and $599 USD.

Year 2000, the MGS2 trailer and Dreamcast on full blast. Leading up to one of the best years in vidya ever.

I'm biased though.

Konami 2010 is still unbeaten.
Came here to post this. 2015 was good I guess. The Last Guardian turned out to be one of my favourite games. I thought it was gone forever. Shenmue 3 sucked salt balls and FF15 won't be finished until 2037.

Also whichever E3 it was when they announced DMC 5 and Keanu Reeves was there.
