ten minutes to download ONE fucking percent, what the hell
stupid stupid firmware updates =(

looks like i aint seeing these anytime soon
If it is taking you that long to get the fw updates, it would probably take weeks for you to download to 100+mb videos from the Japanese PSN servers.

the downloads from the stores are a good speed
something wrong when i try and get the past few firmware updates though, takes inanely long

Watched it again... :OOOOO Still waiting on the other one to finish download... but I'm very impressed with what I saw.

One thing I noticed is that the main character's face has changed since the TGS 2007 trailer which I also have on my HDD. It looks much better.

What's the graphics like, anything wow?

They look good, for a Japanese game.
Some of the clothing textures could be better, but then you're going to be able to change outfits and whatnot, so it's forgivable.
The CG though... is AMAZING. Some of the best I've seen in a long while.

Looks better in motion but what's up with these facial expressions:

:lol

They look like utter crap on my TV, it looks like an Xbox1 game. The CG is beautiful, but the in-game stuff is really bad.

It's running below 30 at the end, and there's screen tear, but that's not gold code so they might fix that for launch.

Looked fine on my TV. Looks similar to the streaming video, except brighter.

I actually like the in-game graphics, for some odd reason.

When i see it, it instantly makes me recognise the game is an RPG.

Colourful aswell.

I'll buy it, the coop could be cool, but graphically it's really underwhelming.

EDIT: Actually, it doesn't look like a last gen game, I'm forgetting how bad they looked, but it's really not good at all.

The only released truly graphically impressive game to come out of Japan has been Metal Gear Solid 4. I think Japanese developers aside from Kojima and Square's A team are still a bit behind the curve. Maybe Level-5 should have just gone with cel-shading again, heh. If the game is as big as they claim it is though, we shall see.

I guess that's true, DMC4 was visually quite a way ahead, but it's a very different type of game. RE5 is miles ahead, Capcom is up there with SE in terms of getting to grips with the new gear. I guess I was just expecting more from L5, they're like the major hotness in Japanese RPG developers and it's been in development for three years. But it does seem that some Japanese developers are still struggling with the new hardware.

This is Level-5's first "HD" game I guess. Their next game will probably look much more solid. But! I will reserve all of my final judgment on WKC until I have the retail copy in my hand. December 25th can't come soon enough.

the only real complaint i have with the char models are the bags underneath some of the character's eyes...especially Renard's.

Cutscenes look fucking amazing.

finally saw em
the TGS trailer is amazing, yeah so what the textures aren't the most detailed, but it looks really solid, and anyone pooing on the graphics has been spoilt

the only complaint i have so far, is during the battles and stuff, i'm not seeing any of the players interact with each other, like the characters did in the early gameplay clips (target render?) like how one character would grab the enemy, and the other would slash it - or whatever, they all seem to be pretty erratic and not interacting with each other

What about an EU (UK) release date?

Or do i have to go to VG+ again?

THe online mode looks kinda blah but the story mode stuff looks solid enough. The new faces blow balls though.

Downloading the videos now.

I always thought the character design was horrible, well same for Lost Odyssey, but the sceneries have always been beautiful.

The graphics are certainly not MGS4 or Crysis, but then again, why are we caring so much about the graphics? Is this some sort of 3D movie which you are not supposed to play and only watch? Is that why people is bitching so much about the graphics here?

And it doesn't look as bad as The Last Remnant at all

I think it really looks about the same as TLR, when you see some of the town locations in these trailers. The blades of grass are like a texture of about 20 moving together. It looks awful.

And the graphics matter because people are doing so much better. The same way if TR:U looked like TR2 I would hate it, not because TR2 doesn't look good enough to play, because it shows a lack of effort. We know the PS3 can do so much better. L5 are not trying hard enough.

That is pretty embarrassing. Level 5, if you fuck this game up you are eternally doomed on consoles.

Aside this game being level 5's first HD game, it's also one of the first Jrpg games to incorporate online co-op with a full fledged single player. Give them some slack!

While the online part isn't impressive graphicly, it looks better in motion and is overall very solid so far. I'm only worried about the lack of headset.

The only problem with live mode trailer is that they only showed one basic combo I think, and the rest of battle demo consists mainly singular hack-n-slash or magic spells which may look boring.

They should include some of the flashier moves into the combo set and show it off.

unless that results in noticeable frame rate loss, then...:(

That's for the online game, do you actually think having natural physics on grass, grass of all things, on a 4-player coop game will improve anything at all? No.

Did you see any slowdown on that video? Granted that trailer could be optimized, but compared to many other games' trailers, there was no download at all, not even tearing. Some guy was saying that, he might have been watching it on some old monitor maybe? BEcause I can see this game having lots of tearing on SDTV tho, but that's rather the norm for PS3, than the exception.

Now onto the story trailer. Although there was no battle footage in there, there were many real time scenes. There are jaggies, but then again that's rather the norm on most PS3 games. The art looks great, the character desgin for the story characters looks better than those for the online mode, but still not of my complete liking. Overall the premise looks very good.

This game is going to be really great.
