Be polite, please
In general when posting in threads, don't be a dick. Be respectful of other fellow members, and learn to argue against the points in a discussion without making it personal or insulting the other party. Present your points well and others will respect your opinion more. Using proper grammar and avoiding typos will also make it easier for others to understand your message.

i was the one told to GTFO first.. doesn't sound too polite towards me!

So the death of three's start right now, huh? Not that I want to see her die but Lindsay Lohan is gonna pull a Amy Winehouse soon the way she looks these days...

I'm going to make the nostalgia cry right now

"Lunching in Bev Hills, watching paramedics screech around the corner w sirens blaring, not knowing they were going to Whitney Houston. Sad."

:(

so a person having talent gives their death more meaning?... then let's say that avg dude who never made the news. I guess i simply don't take death personally unless it's someone who I've met and have known.

Yes it does. It's obvious that is the reason. What is your point? "You like these people because you are more familiar with them." No Shit.

I just hate how these people don't feel loved while they're alive. But when they die, it just overflows. She had to have been in a lonely dark place, but she would have had a place at my family's dinner table for all eternity. It's just such a shame.

We here have an entire thread devoted to posting pictures of Lindsay Lohan's fall from grace, excitedly predicting her death and mocking her life style. People are obsessed with death, and society as a whole is to blame, where we rabidly spread tabloid photos and create a mounting insurmountable pressure on people who are clearly not doing very well.

Hey has someone already been the cool guy that points out the herd mentality of mourning for a celebrity?

Since I'm not part of the system, I wanted to be the first to make that highly intelligent and prescient point.

and btw i was a huge HUGE fan of heath ledger. he died, and i was over it in 5 minutes. the fact of the matter is that people are selfish in nature and this whole grieving process is just a fad.

omg whitney died...tweet n fb about it!! lets share the pain together. i find it ridiculous.

You appear to share the sentiments of people who cannot empathize with the different ways people internalize impressions of others. Generally, people with your view tend to be flippant and mock others because you honestly believe that everyone else around you is just being fake and pretending to feel an emotional connection of a type you don't form.

Here is one lesson for the road. People form connections with those who create works of art and music because of their past experience with those works. Many people were genuinely moved by Michael Jackson's death, as an example, because his incredibly popular music was experienced by countless persons during emotional and memorable moments in their life. This is how a well known artist forms a connection with the public.

If you think this is untrue, you're mistaken. I would suggest learning that other people can, in fact, appreciate things you don't, just as I am sure there are things you appreciate that not everyone else does.

Or you can just keep being an asshole about it and call most other people in the world fakes and liars, and sound like an idiot 19 year old on the Internet who doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground, but thinks he has this shit down cold.

Sooo you're posting in a forum for discussion without being interested in what other people think. At least we've got that out of the way.

Posting repeatedly, and responding repeatedly to getting called out...

People care about Whitney because she (via her music) was a constant presence during both the important and mundane times in many people's lives. Makes sense to me.

I just don't understand how one goes from Kim K to....someone his mother's age. Someone whom the years have not treated well.

Whitney was still fine if you ask me.

Wouldn't you date one of your childhood idols, especially if she was still beautiful?

I feel bad for Ray-J. I'm not too familiar with him or his work, but that has to be terrible to walk in on...especially it being someone he likely loved/adored.

Not to speak ill of the passed, but I would assume they were partying buddies. Drugs can make strange bedfellows. Now Rayjay saying he wasn't there.
