Both parties support certain things that I support. The problem is that at this point it feels like they're holding those few things hostage in order to bargain for implementing and supporting a lot of things I'm not interested in.

Trump is the irrefutable evidence that the political class in our country have collectively failed to protect our citizens and their interests. The tea party movement was the first revolt against the reigning establishment and conventional wisdom and I suppose a similar thing is happening with the Democratic socialists, although it's not clear if that's actually a thing quite yet.

Unfortunately, partisans are the only people who vote, so we'll probably never get a movement of competent representatives prioritizing evidence-based solutions and common sense without the identity politics baggage of the left, militarism from the right, or the gross corporatism on #bothsides.

And non partisans basically can't vote, because there are no viable candidates... It's a never ending cycle of bullshit...

Immigration is the only thing I cant compromise on...so i dont have any choice but to support Trump.

I would vote for the Bill Clinton era Dems in a heartbeat over Republicans.

The more i think about it though...Dems and Repubs were really not all that different back in the 90s and early 2000s. But the left has totally gone off the rails lately.

It's funny because Cesar Chavez, the Mexican-American farm worker civil rights leader, who they name schools and roads after, was totally opposed to illegal labor. He would tell his people working in the fields to call immigration if someone was working illegally. Because he understood that illegal labor hurts poor legal workers and undercuts wages. And now the democrats try to paint anyone holding that position as being against POC, or harboring racist tendencies. You can find videos of well known democrat politicians from just a decade or two ago saying very sensible things about illegal immigration, that the same politicians would not dare say in today's hyper liberal, "no person is illegal" environment.

Maybe you didn't see the video were GOP members were okay with arming children with handguns, that's not just some differing opinion that's insanity.

Maybe You didn’t see Democratic Party members officials calling for the interruption in the private lives of political opponents through instigation of their voter base. Democrats are ok with calling out the abolishment of ICE while poverty stricken American minority children rot in underfunded education centers in Democratic stronghold cities.

This requires a town hall where people can stand up be accountable and voice their opinion. Frankly with all the issues we are facing there should be a weekly town hall.

On the internet there are too many trolls to sort through both foreign and domestic. To get things done we are going to have to really speak to one another in the same room.

Both are bad, the fringes especially so.

I hate that you can't side partially with one or the other on topics because everything is a zero sum game now. You have to pick whatever you're most passionate about, and then suffer through everything else that party stands for at the moment.

I have felt this way my entire adult life. Seriously, I was 18 in 1992 when I worked as a volunteer for Buchanan for President and the boss liked my voice and I was chosen to record our radio ads.

As an anti-war conservative, I have always had to reject the mainstream GOP that led us into incredibly stupid, immoral, and illegal wars. Sadly, I have watched as the neo-liberals gained influence in the Democratic Party and we saw Clinton and Obama basically be no different on the world stage than the so-called "conservatives" in the GOP.

I am thrilled to see that anti-interventionism is rising in the GOP, as it rises in the heartland of America. The Democrats, as the party of statism, are going to return to being the internationalist war party of the criminals Wilson and Roosevelt (Hillary fit EXACTLY into their mold). And I pray that the GOP will return to being a party that could be led by someone like Calvin Coolidge again.
