Who is the smartest comic book character?

Brainiac 5 (Querl Dox) would have these chumps Quantumsterilize his test tubes...

I mean if they passed the entrance testings.

Is that the one with Andromeda? That is the only one I recognize.

The thing with Reed against all the other super intellects of comics is they don't have Reed's obsessiveness.

Part of the point of the Council of Reeds was to show that Reed would basically go nuts without Sue and would either take over the world or blow it up to 'fix' all the problems. iRobot style, baby.

Don´t Superman and the Flash learn things extremely fast? Flash´s brains functions faster than normal human brains, which make him one of the smartest characters around, iirc.

well memorising something and knowing how something works are different. Flash couldn't invent a time machine from scratch for example.

Second day in a row I had to come into a thread to mention Mister Terrific.
Except for Future's End Mr. Terrific who doesn't appear to be that smart.
But still.
Mr. Terrific.
Though I guess he is technically 3rd in the DC universe.
I don't know who the other two are.
Luther
??? (Batman?)
Mr. T

on Earth it's
Luthor
Ray Palmer? or Dr.Magnus or T.O Morrow
Mr. Terrific.

but the smartest person in DC IMHO is Vril Dox, leader of L.E.G.I.O.N and he's a complete bastard.

So Marvel winning? They seem to have a lot more brains than DC. They need to have a Jeopardy tournament.

yes him as well. although I always felt Vril Dox (L.E.G.I.O.N) was smarter because he was more ruthless. but since they are family they are I guess the same...

Ozymandias in watchmen maybe?
Big fish in a tiny pond, same with Doc Manhattan.

ANd Reed isn't

Aren't there all-knowing all-seeing god like cosmic characters that would take home the cake?
Yes, and they are defined in both Marvel (The One Above All) and DC (The Presence). They're God Himself, so they have no rivals at all.

Excluding beings like that, though, I'm going to go with Mxyzptlk. He can comprehend things that no other characters can.

Can he comprehend that he's not human and therefore irrelevant to this thread?

On topic, gotta give it to Reed.

Isn't Reed's daughter (Victoria?) supposed to be even smarter than him?

His girl Valeria is smarter than him.

Valeria does claim this herself, but she is pretty unreliable at her current age. Adult Valeria is smarter than her father according to Mister Franklin.

Can the Council of Reeds combine like Voltron and be even smarter? :0

Two alternate Reeds did combine to form the new Kree Supreme Intelligence, so I guess so.

You know it is a good thing Franklin and Val get along. Can you imagine the sibling rivalry?

I can easily imagine paying $3.99 a month for that What-If story. The smartest human on Earth versus an unimaginably powerful universal constant (sounds familiar) who also happens to be her mutant sibling? So many awesome directions that story could take.

rick and morty's the counsel of Ricks is from Reed Richards?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I smell a sitcom!!

When did the Batman prep time thing come about? One of the worst things to happen to the character imo.

There's a pretty egregious example from The Dark Knight Returns, Batman beats Superman because of some decades of planning. I'm not a Batsman expert though.

Reed and Doom are top of the list. These are guys who can build portals to other universes, time machines, etc.

Hank McCoy, Hank Pym are next.

Stark and Black Panther are below that.

Valeria says she's smart but 3 years ago she was still shitting her pants.

Dude, that's probably one of the more fair ones, IIRC. He throws a ton of stuff at him
with Superman also being blocked from the sun, sapping his power
, and even then
Batman only really gets a second of superiority to claim he "won"
.

Well Beast built a time machine so he's certainly improved in his standing over the years.

I'm really bad about Marvel brain charts though. Amadeus Cho was like #7 back when he was palling around with Herc right?

Lets just talk about the man who created a Time Machine that somehow doesn't create paradoxes or alternate timelines.

Doom takes this award home.

The more I learn about Doom, the more I like him.

I still like Apocalypse the most., I know he has been bitch-slapped around a lot, but I still like him.

That krypton-tipped arrow though.
