Did the tutorial and first mission. This game is pure kino.

The MGS2 aesthetic is undeniable.

The artist for both MGS2 and ZOE2 are the same, Yoji Shinkawa if I'm not wrong. Also, they're both Kojima's game, no?

Never really played a great mech game before and somehow never played zone of the enders. I was at one point going to play ZOE2 so I had watched all the cutscenes for the original but got side tracked somewhere. Is this worth picking up eventually (way over budget for games in september) lol

Stoked to play this in VR but I'm out of funds ATM. I feel dirty trying to win giveaways from YT channels, LOL.

Kojimbo was just a producer. Hard to tell how much influence he had. Might've been a lot, might've been a little.

Nope, not at that price:

Winter sale this year or summer sale next year for me. And there's no JP VO so one more reason not to buy the game now.

Not sure if I can justify paying 30 dollars for such an old game even with these updates that I may never use. I imagine it still holds out as one of my favorite games ever. Even though it is criminally short.

Was planning to buy it (again), but with Spiderman and Red Dead Redemption 2 just a month and a half away....just cant.

Did you know ZOE2 has the same L2, R2 interactions as MGS2 during Codec Conversations, ZOE2 has a lot in common with MGS2 :D

Huh? Amazon still tells me they'll only ship mine on the 8th. I guess the US date is a bit earlier then. ☹

Alright, then I will buy it as well! Thanks, man!

Keep in mind the first person cockpit mode requires a vr headset. So you can play without vr but itll have to be in normal 3rd person.

Which is fine with me cuz the mechs in this look amazing but just an fyi.

Ah, that's good to know. But I'm similar to you in that respect. Those mechas just look too awesome not to play in 3rd person!

Is this the OT?
Always tought it was coming same day as spiderman, in any case my copy is in the mail somewhere.
First playthrough in VR, second when I get a 4ktv. That legendary artwork needs to SHINE

Damn, what's with all these releases that I wasn't planning for. DQ11 came out this week, and also this? Then Spiderman soon?

Anyways, I want to try the VR, and I only have PSRV so I guess I'll pick it up on PS4. Is there a physical edition?

Based on some time with the demo, the PC port seems like definitive version material but the VR stuff doesn't feel great. Lots of immersion-breaking swaps to a flat theater view for cutscenes, and the gameplay just doesn't work all that well in first-person. Situational awareness is an entirely different beast without a pulled-back viewpoint and it ends up feeling a bit too chaotic. Also the performance didn't seem great on my 1080, but that could have been my oculus software needing a restart or not liking the SteamVR implementation.

It's a cool idea and you could certainly do a really good ZoE VR thing, but it'd have to be built from the ground up for the medium. Loving the fact that we have an enhanced PC version of the non-VR stuff though.

There's an animated hologram of Jehuty in the cockpit that mostly mirrors what it would be doing in third-person, but it's not really the same. And for whatever reason, some animations like the spinning throw are slower and less flashy.

I'm boycotting this game. Why the heck didn't they release ZOE1 first or rather alongside? Dumb Konami fucks...

Wasn't the first game like 45mins? All the more reason to just put it in as a collection of sorts, but I suppose they thought it wasn't worth the effort of remastering or something.

I haven't played ZOE 2 since the game first came out in 2003, over 15 years ago now.

It'd odd because I already own the PS3 ZOEHD collection but while I replayed the first game, I never got around to replaying the second.

ZOE 1 was verrry short. It seemed like more of a tech demo for the glorious ZOE 2 to come. I'll probably pick this up at some point and revisit. It's an incredible game, and the story is fantastic.

Just beat Vic Viper. The story has been good so far. The writing, or at least the English script, has not been good tho.

I don't know if the PC demo is different but I had a great time with the PS4 version in VR. The cutscenes get a pass from me because it would be very hard to rework them into VR, if not downright impossible with all the anime scenes and camera work. They did make them 3D so it feels like watching a movie in a 3D cinema, I think that's commendable.

I didn't have any problems playing inside Jehuty, I never lost my bearings and didn't find it harder to fight enemies, it played like a dream in my opinion, I also turned off every VR comfort setting and never got motion sick. It just makes me want to see more PS2/PS3 games ported into VR if they get this level of effort put into them.

Game speed is tied to frame rate on PC and I'm playing at 1440p with a gtx1080ti and it it'll jump around from 60-80fps and causes the game speed to fluctuate. I can't seem to get the speed to lock, I assume I'll have to change my monitors refresh rate to 60hz down from 144hz to fix it.

I tried playing in 4k maxed out and it was only 30-40fps. I haven't tried but I think the TAA is taxing as hell, I'll have to test it out later today.

Getting it soon, trying to play a bit of DQ XI first.

Amazed noone has asked... how's the Cock-pit view on VR?? 🤣

Take a look at the demo posts in the board, plenty of comments about it. You can also look a couple of posts above yours...

Sorry, not a native English speaker. That being said I didn't see the "-" at first. I can now confirm the view is firm and rigid. :v

I would like to check it out eventually, but I'm gonna be busy with DQ11 for awhile, and after, I'd like to pick up Spiderman.

If only you were an Xbox player. You would have no choices.

Xbox is the one console I don't have, though I have been thinking about getting that XBONEX deal where you pay $35 a month for two years the system, live, and game pass...for some reason. There are 2 or 3 games on the console I even want...
