Who wants to be a Canadian?

That's the spir- OH WAIT NO IT IS NOT.

I'm not happy about how this election turned out, but I'm just going to buckle down, not go apeshit like some of the liberals on the board, hope that Bush doesn't fuck things up too much and race to the polls with a vengeance come 2006 and 2008. I'll probably participate in political events and contact my representatives.

This is a logical course of action if you're really an American. If you're a pussy, by all means, go to Canada. Not that I have anything against Canada, but if they want you so bad, good for 'em. Maple syrup and all that jazz.

It's more like this: Americans don't want me. I'm liberal AND gay....somehow this makes me the bogeyman to middle America. E pluribus unam is such bullshit.

I was active this election. My state is pretty safe so there is not much I can do in 2006. As for 2008, I'll probably be working my butt off in grad school and not have time to travel to swing states.

Wrong.

Bingo! I'm Jewish. My family is black. This will get me killed in some parts of America. Am I going to move? Fuck no!

I can't fault you for being active, but immigrating to Canada is not the answer.

I agree with Willco ultimately. I'm sure that some people are saying that they will leave as way to deal with their dissappointment, but in the end liberals and moderates who really care about what's going on can't keep saying stuff like this even in jest. This plays right into the hands of the neo-conservative block that has taken over the government--they want dissenters to become apathetic.

I was saying shit like this after the last presidental election and after the last mid-term elections. Now my attitude has changed after coming to grips with what is happening. Removing myself from the USA's democracy is a cop out. This country is just as much my home as it is for other citizens--I won't allow my voice to be silenced or shoved off into the distance because some fools don't want to share its freedoms.

The Republicans wouldn't dare use your religion or race against you. On the other hand, top Republicans use the word "liberal" as though it were a bad word. As for gays, elected Republicans and their surrogates have used homosexuality in a negative way to advance their agenda. Listen to the Republican senator-elect from Oklahoma or Frist. The Republican party has callously lumped liberals and homosexuals with Osama as enemies of American lifestyle.

And the American people eat it up.

OK, I guess all-dressed chips are chips with all of the assorted chip flavorings (sour cream, onion, bbq, salt, vinegar, ketchip, dill) on them at once. Thanks all you Canadians who didn't answer the question! Some friendly neighbors you are!

We don't like to talk about All Dressed chips. I had no idea that's what was "in" them and I've had them off and on for years. If you made me guess, I might have said there was some fucked up salad dressing on it....Aka the "Dressed" part...The things you think about when you live in a country with George Bush as its President!

Oh fantastic, if all of you liberal sooks leg it out of America that means the Democrats have an even harder chance of winning the election! So suck it down for the rest of the world for Bush's final term then vote those sucker Republicans out, mmkay?

Any flavor of chips gets nasty after you've eaten too much.
It's all about variety.

Although I must say, BBQ Kettle chips are fcuking awesome.

I've thought about moving to Canada before, even before the 2000 elections. Will I ultimately do it? No, most likely not. Marriage is about the only thing that truly makes me long for Canada. If anything I'd be more willing to move to other countries I've been more intrigued with my entire life.

But those are all just fantasies, I'm going to finish school out here in Arizona and make my living up somewhere in the Northeast, mainly around Boston. No political reason though, every since I took a trip out there, I loved the area, the weather, the general attitude. My kind of place. Now I can get married too! Honestly though, I'm quite disappointed in the way this country is progressing, but I'm not ready to move to another place and lose some of the strong patriotic principles that I could only stand for in this country. Plus, I could never just abandon my family and friends.

If this wave of emigration continues, Republicans could perhaps even reintroduce slavery! Everybody wins!

Obviously you have not tried Roasted Chicken or Smoked Bacon flavor chips.

Actually those would be acceptable flavours, though I'd rather just have regular. But sour cream? Cheese and onion? Dill pickle? Ketchup? All nothing but shit.

I moved to Canada from Australia. Admissably, Australia isn't all that bad, but with the re-election of the Liberal Party (Don't be confused, they're actually a right-wing party) It is getting worse. American policy has a big influence on Australian policy and I do not wish to be part of a country fueled by ignorance and bigotry.
