Who will own TGS?

Wax Free Vanilla said:
1) MGS4 - bend down and suck, he says to other games. :D :lol

2) LA Noir - will put other 3D open ended tripe already shown like Frame City Killers, Saints Row etc. to shame.

3) Gran Turismo 5 will blitz any other driving game shown at the show.

4) Sony will dominate everybody, that's not a prediction - that is a FACT.

I don't see why its so hard to think that Sony would have something to show of GT5 there. Polyphony was able to put together the GT2000 demo in 2 weeks, they've had enough time to atleast come up with a good trailer for the game to give you an idea of the graphics you'll be able to expect and not just the amount of cars on the road.

If they put together anther demo like that again people will laugh at them. Who was GT2000's main competitor? With GT5 Polyphony will have to at least match PGR3 and I don' think they can do it in 2 weeks. I don't think we will see GT5 at TGS but at E3.

what's so funny?

GT5 is a 2007 game so I am not sure if TGS is the time to show it (then again, MGS4 will probably be a 2007 game too).....

Actually, the more I think about it, the more it is possible GT5 will make an apperance if for no other reason than to make a statement to PS fans that their big guns are coming...

LA Noir.....I would love to get an early look at this myself....

I expect some crazy, crazy looking PS3 stuff at TGS.....some PS3 realtime demos (lair for example) nearly look like CG.....I am very impressed with the hardware sofar....

Who said they'd only have 2 weeks? I was just giving an example of how fast they were able to put together and impressive playable demo of the game. This won't have to be playable, just a trailer of it.

look the point is they will need some time to develop a good graphics engine and they can't do that in two weeks or two months. They will need at least a year or so.

How's it any different from MGS4? At E3 both showed off demos that were based on graphic codes of previous gen games. They've both been developing games for likely the same amount of time. If Kojima's ready to show MGS4 I don't see why Polyphony wouldn't be far enough along to show something on the real GT5.

damn we don't even know what he is going to show! He could show a teaser trailer with PS3 models but iI doubt it will have any gameplay/ai therefore it will pretty much be a pre-rendered video. If GT5 is shown it will most likely be a pre-rendered trailer.

If Nintendo does a FULL unvieling of the Revolution, they will own, no argument.

No one knows anything about it next to the other consoles. If Nintendo doesn't show much, then Sony will own it.

All other opinions are junk. :D

What is LA Noir? The only "Noir" I can think of is the tech demo of the chick in black and white.

It's the game the newly formed Team Bondi in Sydney are working on, it's a detective thriller and is exclusive to PS3.

They've been working on it for quite a while too. I wouldn't be surprised if it makes an appearance at TGS, after Lair (another SCEA title) was shown at the PS Meeting. Or was that because of "teh dragons"? :D

If Sony wanted to destroy both MS and Nintendo all they would have to do is go ahead with that Final Fantasy VII remake.

I'm sure Sony would love that.

Square, on the other hand, is in the bad business of painful cock-teasing. As long as they stand by their promise 'not to remake a game as long as you can still play the original on the current system' (i.e. PS1 games on PS3), we won't be getting FFVII Remake for PS3.

The only way we'll see this game is if:

-Square changes their stance and, seeing the hype for Advent Children and the PS3 tech demo, decides to go forward with the PS3 remake... or
-FFVII Remake ends up on X360, since technically you can't play FFVII on 360. This would be a megaton for MS, I feel...
-FFVII Remake ends up on Revolution, *see above*

I'm still holding out hope for the first one. If the second or third one become a reality, that particular system will be an automatic sale for me. :D

With your background, surely you must've heard of "him" before?

:lol the only Alan Smithee I know about is the assclown that directed Hellraiser:Bloodlines *vomits*.... and the made-for-TV The O.J. Simpson Story.

What am I missing here, Ceb? :D

I love that pic of Kojima. He looks just like one of those paintball goofs from Friday the 13th: Part VI. :lol

THere's something magical about Metal Gear Solid trailers. I don't know what it is. I remember 2 years ago at E3 I must have sat and watched the MGS3 trailor for like an hour, and I wasn't alone, just people sitting on carpet..watching it.

Microsoft has the most to prove to Japanese gamers. So I'm going to assume they'll be busting their asses to make sure they're a cut above the competition at TGS. It's too early for too much more PS3 stuff, so I think Nintendo will beat Sony with the DS lineup.

Anyone think Microsoft will wow us with a completely revamped Perfect Dark Zero?

:lol ...o wait you was being serious ?! personally i would be surprised if PD0 is a launch game with rares current resume of delivering games.

But anyway nintendo for the win its the enigma.

MS will win the important booth babe war ... again. For the 4th TGS in a row.
It's a given.

The lesbian pole dancers will NEVER be topped. Bad idea to have them "doing their thang" when you are showing your new console off though. People were coming out of the presentation saying :

"Uh... did you actually see any of the games...? shit... we have to go back in..."
(repeat x 10)

I'm a huge Nintendo nut, but um...how can they "own" TGS without being on the floor? I wish they would have a booth there and actually represent themselves in the industry they're in, but maybe they've felt it's too PlayStation focused? How can they own it though...by showing a controller that's going to send Sony back to the drawing boards and/or cast doubt on PS3. Hardly!

I'm a Nintendo fanatic, but even I know that's unrealistic. If Nintendo had a booth with playable Revolution games, I'd say they could "win" 'cos it would be the first real info and hands-on the system would have. But since they said that they wanted to show the hardware & software together "as a package" I doubt they'll show the controller...or even any games since they most likely want to wait to have them both playable instead?

I really hope MGS4 brings something special to the show. One of my favorite series. I also hope to see a nice batch of Castlevania Curse of Darkness impressions. I'm really looking forward to that game.
