Who's getting a Xbox 360 at launch?

I think I'll be very very likely to get it unless everything at launch looks bad. Ive heard it should be a killer launch lineup.. but just the new sports games, a new PGR and a new DOA will be enough to lure me over. Anything else is cake.

If live isnt there from day one, all of this is subject to change.

depending entirely on what the halo team is up too. Seriously, release 2.5 and I would be all over that shit.

Me most likely im so weak when it comes to resisting the lure/excitement of launch day for a new console....

The first console of a new gen is too hard for me to resist, so yeah I'll be getting one at launch.

I'm there.

I am also expecting the best launch lineup for any console/portable. The most I've ever spent at launch was amazingly the Dreamcast. Spent $500 bucks on the system, accessories, and games. Otherwise than that I've kept it at $350 or under for launches. From the launch games I'm seeing rumored I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up spending like 600-700 bucks at Xbox 360 launch. I'm putting aside 100 dollars a month right now till launch!

For me it'll all depend on the launch titles.

What's the word on the launch titles?

Myself, and pretty much every game that comes with it. With Quake 4, new THPS and Spiderman available, maybe, I'm assuming other developers are going to be putting their best foot forward. Madden, hopefully VC makes it with NBA 2K6, and whatever else they throw at us. If 10 games are good-great, then that is what I'll walk out of the store with. I've been putting away for the new gen to start. Only FF12, KH2, Zelda, and Forza are definate purchases this year, which is a big drastic cutback from 2004. No more sports games till the 360. I'm just waiting for the SKU numbers to appear in Gamestop, and then I'll start dropping money

Me too, I love having new released hardware even if Xbox was probably my least played console this gen. The thing is, i really need a beefy single player killer app to push me to get it, it has to be something really good.

The launch lineup looks awesome. If it's backwards compatible, I'll trade in my current Xbox and PS2 towards it, since I can enjoy most of the experiences on the Xbox next. I think BC won't be in the Xb360 though -_- Another thing that's a liability

If I can gather together enough cash through Game Rush, then it's MINE. To seal the deal it'd have to be less than $300 (meaning $299.99 maximum), have Perfect Dark Zero at launch, and have that game be playable through Live (I'll prolly buy the subscription just for that- and I specifically make it a point NOT to pay extra for OL games).

Oh, and power cords that don't catch on fire. That'd be a good feature.

EDIT: It probably will get limited play time for at least one or two weeks, just because I have a feeling Zelda may be there the same week.

Its pretty much a garauntee for me, if the list of xbox 360 launch games are in fact correct and if it retails between $350-600 CND. I'll be there in line for the midnight sale.

Maybe, depends on the launch lineup. Dipping into the next generation this Christmas is very very tempting, even if I'm not really ready to let go of the current gen.

No. I easily resisted the PSP launch due to lacking software and its price. The 360 will most likely be the same story, but I'll wait until E3 to make a more developed judgement.

definitely.. the only console i might not buy at launch is revolution (launching against PS3 are you nuts?!)

I envy your tremendous willpower. You probably still have your DS too dont you? :(

I bought my DS for Mario 64 and Wario Ware from the outset. Band Brothers and Zoo Keeper were just icing on the cake.

I'll get a PSP, but not until it slips a bit in price. And by a bit I mean like $100.

Glad to see everyone hyped before we know jack about the damn thing, save for the name which is stupid.

Glad to see that you seem to be unnerved by the thought of people buying a console for their own reasons. And there is plenty of information about the console to be hyped about it...how about announced software and developers? That's enough for most. Me, I'm getting it because I always get the console systems at launch.

I'll be the first in the line. Reasons:

- Microsoft's strategy FUCK ROCKS. They seem to be doing pretty much everything aside of the bc right
- In addition to my 42" plasma, I'm getting a Samsung HDTV from Microsoft - thanks!
- I'm sooooo ready for HD Era, I want next gen gaming experiences already
- All the stuff I've heard but can't tell

they are going to do major damage this generation, in my opinion.

I like this news. I plan on joining the HD ERA early next year when I buy a high def set.

I want to see how hard MS and their third parties are going to push downloadable content and this 'micropayment' crap on the 360 before I buy one. If it's all going to be like, 'Buying Racing Game X is only the beginning! Tired of the bad rubber-band AI? Sign up for a Live subscription now and play against real people! Sure, the power of the Xbox 360 would let us implement good opponent AI if we wanted to, but then you wouldn't get the Live experience--and we wouldn't get your $50! Oh, and those cool cars in the screenshots? Well, those are part of our exclusive Content Download packs! Five cars for only $4.99! Act now and we'll send you this Xbox 360 keychain, absolutely free!', then I'll probably pass on the system altogether. If I see MS and 3rd parties reverse some of the trends I didn't like this generation (like pushing Live play as a substitute for good opponent AI and/or bot support, depending on the game) and resist the temptation to go overboard with milking consumers for DLC, I'll be much more likely to pick one up.

Of course, I might also cave in spite of myself if the right launch title(s) are announced. I can be weak that way. :p

We know even less about the PS3, so it's only fair. (start a thread about that, I dare you)

I am. I will get 2 Xbox2's if the price is $249 for the base model.

2 Xbox2 consoles
2 harddrive modules
8 controllers
10-12 games.
1 or 2 other peripherals

that's what i am budgeting for. there are not many current gen games that I'll be buying this year, other than Zelda. and I probably wont get a PSP this year. i've decided to put almost ALL my videogame dollars into Xbox2 this year.

I plan to purchase all 3 at launch as long as i have the cash. But that's the multiconsole owner in me speaking.

I've been planning on getting the next Xbox for awhile now. Elderscrolls Oblivion, Ultimate Spider-man, Project Gotham Racing 3, Dead or Alive 4, Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo Elements of Power, and Quake IV...all at or near launch are to good to pass up. And then there's the Japanese stuff down the line...

sadly it was the custom OST in all games that cinched it for me (fuck you EATrax)
