Who's going to throw us a bone and drop price at E3?

Who has that 30 day pricematch if price drops? Circuit City right? So you could buy a PS2 now and get the price drop if it happens?

I really don't think Sony would drop it so soon after the Slimline version debut, would they? I think it's being saved back as a bit of a nudge at the Xbox 360 later in the year. Plus, sales of the console are still strong anyway...

Sales of the slim PS2 are friggin through the roof right now... I find it hard to believe they'll drop the price on it at E3.

Best Buy, Circuit City, Fry's Electronics

Not sure about Compusa or Walmart. I would say Toys R Us but they took out pricematching altogether, assholes. Well actually I don't blame them...

Sony will drop the PS2 price when the 360 comes out. Which would the casual gamer have? A $300 system with $70 games, or a $100 system with a good selection of cheap titiles?

This way they can continue with the PS3 hype and cut into potential 360 sales. At least that would be the smart thing to do..

Well Nintendo had better drop the price on the DS. That shit is way overpriced IMO. They should drop it to $99, drop GBASP to $49, and GCN to $79.

Do graphics cards drop after E3? Im desperate for a 6600GT and Im not sure if I should wait a couple of weeks.

Do we honestly need another price drop?? All the consoles are plenty cheap enough.

Are you feeling okay? Price drops are always welcome, especially for those of us who might buy a backup console or upgrade an existing one (i.e. PS2 -> Slim PS2).

Holy shit would i love to get that price for AC5! Was that on CAG?

He price-matched a goof-up in a Sears ad some time back, which was supposed to list Ace Combat 4 as part of a special door-buster deal for certain games at $4.99, but whoever did it goofed up and put the cover for Ace Combat 5 in. (And the ad didn't otherwise list the included title as 4.)

Sears honored the price mistake (there was a company-wide memo about it that morning), which was nice of them. (Instead of how some companies fight tooth and nail over their own mistakes, and a few even purposefully use bait-and-switch techniques to bring in customers.)

Yes, as is the PSP. If Sony doesn't cut the PSP price, the DS price will remain the same at least until the holidays. Sucks, because I'm not buying either one at their current price.

Hard to see any price cuts happening at all. Sony has no need to lower the PS2 price right now, Xbox has limited supply anyway so they can wait until 360 comes out, and Nintendo isn't gonna lower the Gamecube price because they want to get at least one more profitable year out of the console.

Are you a casual gamer? Hardcore gamers will buy the 360 simply because it's the newest toy. Casual gamers will at the very least wait for a pricedrop, and probably only buy one of the next gen systems.

You XBoys better not let me down since I'll be selling 360's on ebay this Fall. I expect to make decent money...

The DS might drop to $119, but I think they'll just wait till fall and drop to $99 at once like they did with the GC. Overall I actually wouldn't bet on price drops at E3 for any system, we'll see.

I laugh my ass off everytime ebay douches lose money on hardware launches. PSP launch auctions going for less than the retail prices on ebay couple months back made me smile for days.

They are going to have more than a million units for launch. If you want to make profit off of X360 launch via ebay, you better put in sumthin sumthin extra in the boxes. :lol

Where does it say anywhere that the games are $70. Show me one lick of proof please.

I've made enough off of each launch not to have to buy my own consoles, but the PS2 was the real money-maker. I figure if I sell 4 or so, I should be able to clear more than $200 in profit.

I don't expect much more, though, unless the machine is actually wanted and in short supply like the PS2 was...

This fall I'm expecting...

PS2~ $129.99
PSP~ $199.99 (dropping the value pack)

GC~ $99.99 + free game deal
DS~ $129.99
GBA SP~ $69.99

Xbox~ $149.99
Xbox 360~ $299.99
Xbox 360~ $399.99 (with 40GB+ HD & media options)

seriously... there is only one pice drop needed at E3, and that is PSP. One would think that if Sony drops the PSP price (which they won't) then Nintendo will drop the DS price.

but as far as price drop on consoles goes... are gamers seriously that poor that after 5 years of a generation they can't dish out $400 for all the game consoles? if you own two another one will at most cost you $150. if you only own one at most it will only cost you $250 (unless you are one of the IMPOSSIBLY few who only owns a gamecube).

microsoft won't drop the price because they have already stopped XBox production, and Sony won't drop the price with new PS2s flying off the shelf. Nintendo won't drop their price because it won't increase sales for them one damn bit.

no price drop for joo..

I hope the PS2 drops to $99 soon. I had an MGS3 dream last night, it was awesome. I want to play MGS3. $150+whatever MGS3 retails for isn't so bad, but $99 would be a sweet deal.
