Who's patiently waiting for Splinter Cell 3: Chaos Theory?

I'm not

Found Splinter Cell overrated, and Pandora Tomorrow was same boring gameplay. I didn't play it online though, which I hear is great. Sorry but I'm all Splinter Cell'd out!

I'm not sure if they plan on making another one, but if they make a new SC for phones I would buy it.

Thief > MGS > cell phone SC > console SC

I love Splinter Cell - something about the single player design (linear as it is) really appeals to me. The multiplayer aspect of Pandora Tomorrow was fun for a while, but frankly I don't think I need another Splinter Cell until May or June of next year.

Give the franchise a chance to breathe.

SC:CT on PC for me. Should run fairly well with a lot of eyecandy on an Nvidia 6800 series card.

I'm not expecting much from the single player game, multiplayer...well.....IMHO Splinter Cell Multiplayer is only really playable with people you know, as the idiots that run rampant in pick up games really damper the experience - especially in a 4 player environment.

I'm rather curious as to how they've implemented coop.

On a brief G4 preview they mentioned something like one player can interrogate an enemy NPC but have him not talk (the npc will say something like "you're only one man!"), however the enemy will crumble as soon as the second player shows up in the same area during the interrogation.

You my friend have a Hooded man fetish.
Figure A.) You put Thief over Metal Gear solid. (The Main Character Wears A Hood.)
Figure B.) The Star War's emperor as a tag.

What the hell is up with that?!?!

I only played the original and was fairly disappointed with it, although for much different reasons than MGS(2). The controls felt convoluted and didn't feel natural, the mission design was extremely linear and annoyingly forced you to use stealth when I didn't want to, and I remember being pissed off to no end by shooting a guy in the head what seemed like several times before he died. That really turned me off from the series. Although there were a lot of thigns I liked about it.

I'm excited that the mission strcuture has finally opened up. Previews I've read say there will be multiple pathways to get jobs done. I hope each pathway offers more behind trial and error for each way to go.

It reminds me of the foreskin, I thought that much would have been obvious.

What really pisses me off is when someone takes off their hood...it makes me so damn mad >< I feel like shoving something over!!

It's gonna be awesome, had the chance to play, rocks all over all previous Splinter Cell's. Which is pretty sweet. Animations are mindbogglingly beatifull, graphics improved a lot!

I feel the same way.

Oh, and I must mention my single player expectations have raised considerably for Chaos Theory after playing the masterful Metal Gear Solid 3.

...and if you haven't gotten enough of it and want more then SC: CT, pick up the special Collector's edition with even more content.

To be honest I was so disappointed in the game that
I never played it again.
I shot an unflinching man, 5 times before he died. How could a game get near perfect scores for this.
Its beauty and reality based military stealth couldn't save it. (Believable missions.)
Not to mention Sam Fischer sound like he is a 90 year old man!!! That killed the immersion effect of the whole game.

Never cared to really play PT
But I hear I am missing out on the best online game ever.
A different team is working on this new one, so If they solve the problems I will become very interested.

They need to improve the multiplayer maps so that they'd be worth playing just for a deathmatch scenario. Having to memorize each map in order to know the best routes to the encryption stations really turned me off the game, whereas something like Halo 2, you don't need to memorize the maps to have a shot at winning.

I played the original and I found it rather boring. Don't get me wrong, I love stealth games, especially the original Theif and MGS but I just couldn't get into SC's overly millitaristic storyline. I need a teaspoon of sci-fi or fantasy to go with my stealth.

Is that true? maybe that will explain why this game looks like an actual sequel and hopefully will not recieve the mission pack treatment that SC:PT did

there might yet be hope in this one ....may have to rent it

You must act upon your urges and shove things over.
Stop supressing your feelings.

I agree completely. The few times that I played PT's multiplayer, I played on warehouse and we all agreed to keep the other sectors locked. We would just play deathmatch or tag in the first sector.

I stopped playing SC after an hour because when shooting point-blank at a guy the enemy recieves no damage.

SC:CT looks interesting though.

PT was the work of Ubi Shangail(with a different lead designer and some people from montreal)

CT is the work of Ubi Montreal(with a new lead designer).

THey've improved on some aspects you people brag about.

They are movin in the right direction.

It's my most wanted game next year tied with RE4. I'm basically counting down the months (since I'm too lazy to count days.) Halo 2 is so freaking boring now.

i don't understand why, when given one of the most interesting, well thought out and truly Innovative multiplayer modes in years, some people just want to turn it into a boring deathmatch. sure, it takes dedication to learn the maps and strategies, but once you get over the learning curve, you just can't find a more immersive game.

the multiplayer mode for sc3 might be my most anticipated 2005 release.

I wasn't complaining about the modes, or the excellence of the two different play styles, I was complaining about the size of the maps. Some of the maps are just too large for a max of 4 players.

I love stealth games but for some strange reason I've never played Splinter Cell o-O

I guess I'm really 100% MGS fanboy.

It's the required dedication that turned me off. I loved it for the first week, but then I got thrown of the loop because I could never keep up.

Actually, the original team has been working on this game since the release of Splinter Cell 1. The Shanghai team made Pandora Tomorrow, as sort mission pack. So the makers of Splinter Cell 1, are on Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (part 3).

Really because in press start a couple of EGM's ago It said otherwise.
I was concerned about the change in graphics.
We need an EGM guy to give clarification.

You know, these opinions might actually influence the game design guys, as The Bookerman seems to be working on this game (he lives in Montreal, he works for UbiSoft, he's stated that UbiSoft Montreal are working on the game, he started this topic. Seems pretty certain). Not that I know in what capacity, perhaps he has little control over the design of the games, but he might.

I've still yet to play a SC, so...I've got nothing. I just came in here for the pretty pics which didn't appear.

SC controlls feel sluggish to me, and the camera makes me dizzy. if the controlls were more tight and the camera was static/behind the back then i would like it more.

Coop kicks the living shit out of PT's multiplayer.
Tell us about it! I got to play onlyone (not even finished) demolevel in single....

Will it be different missions then the singleplayer with sam fisher? thats what I understood...

Can't say anything about it. Sorry.

NDA's hold my tongue.

Bish knows what I'm talkin about.

Marred by rigid linearity and a forgettable plot, this series ranks as one of the most overrated franchises this gen has seen.

While playing the game, I can't remember how many times I've cursed the following:

After killing a janitor, your superior barks, "OH TEH NO FISHER U KILT TEH NONDESCRIPT NOBODEE!!!! TIHS MISHUN IS OVARR!!!!!!"

To the author of this thread, uh...no.

I would enjoy SC:PT multiplayer, but I don't play pathologically enough to get good at it and actually have fun and kill anybody :(

Looking forward to the multiplayer; could care less about the single player although co-op sounds fun.

I saw the new multiplayer (spy vs mercs) in action last week. Quite an improvement from Pandora Tomorrow. Too bad I can't go into details (yet), but this should be VERY nice :)

Coop is my favorite mode too. For the maps though, i don't know if can tell you... i didn't look what's already there in the medias ;)

Coop mode of Chaos theory is the true meaning of cooperation. If you have cooperation in mind, you just can't be deceived believe me.
