Did you like Splinter Cell Conviction?

No. Completed it at launch and I was thinking what have they done to Splinter Cell??
Mark and execute has to be one of the most dumb mechanics out there.

It's not a bad game, but it was a downgrade compared to the previous ones.
I never finished it. Just gave up half way through, because I was tired of it.

It was an amazing game that made you feel like Jack Bauer or Jameson Bourne and I'm tired of people shitting on it. All the previous Splinter Cells you played as a working agent full geared on a mission. In this game you played as a Father only armed with a gun or whatever you find in the missions and yeah it was a bit more action based...but man the presentation, the UI, the story, the gameplay...it was AMAZING and a blast to play.

I played it through twice. Once on regular and second time on the hardest difficulty. It's a fun game for sure but it felt like more of a Bourne style game than a proper Splinter Cell entry.

Is that like the knock off counterfeit version?

I liked it for what it was, but it wasn't my favorite Splinter Cell game and it wasn't a direction I would want for this series to continue

I've beaten all the mainline SC games. Conviction is Splinter Cell for dummies. No wonder Sam Fisher is so pissed in this game. It takes all the complexity and depth away from what used to be a challenging stealth-action series, converting it instead into action-stealth.

Surprisingly, regardless of this obvious catering to the lowest common gamer, Conviction manages to be entertaining despite this transgression. This is mostly due to the Mark & Execute system, as well as the Last Known Position system. (However, having the screen go all black and white while in the shadows was a retarded idea, because that means most of the game is played in boring black and white.) Conviction's plot is retconned trash, and the less said about it the better.

Basically if you're looking for a brief and easy action-stealth game, Conviction will do you fine. But if you're looking for a great Splinter Cell game, check out either Chaos Theory or Blacklist instead. Conviction was ultimately a confliction. You can't always please everybody Ubisoft.
