The bar I usually go to has a 'Saturday Sucks' night (how typical) where it's mostly industrial, dark wave and some metal music.

This is a night typically reserved for the goths, and they come out in droves to hang out.

Here's my goth anecdote:

I was sitting at the bar having a beer with a friend when a tall skinny goth dude came walking by and commented that he liked my t-shirt.

The shirt I was wearing was red with a picture the ghetto blaster guy from the Transformers at a turntable. (I love that shirt)

Anways, he sat down with my girlfriend and I and we all introduced ourselves. The conversation went like this:

Me: Hey, I'm Rich. Good to meet you.
Goth: Hey, I'm Ravenfang Blackthorne
Me: Holy shit, what kind of name is that. Do I call you Ravenfang or Blackthorne or what?
Him: Nah, just call me Dave.

I think I laughed my ass off for about 10 minutes.

Speaking to the subject, as some people have mentioned some of the nicest people I've met just happened to be whats considered a goth.

I think the key thing to tolerate them is to just let it be. To each their own, I guess.

Rockabilly people are so much more entertaining than goths. Alas they are not considered cool. An endangered subculture.

Heh, there's somewhat of a rockabilly "scene" in Chicago. I'm too scared to approach most of them though. Does it read somewhere that you must be ripped in order to be rockabilly? They must all visit GNC or something.

You forget to take into account that I still have to scan over your topic headings - that's the problem.

GAF might have a lot of silly topics, but at least most of them are funny, or easily skimmed over. This is one topic that comes from the ratmjoe school of thought. A school of thought which can be summed up as, "Hey! I thought of something. Let me post on GAF and see what people think," kind of deal. Topics which just make one want to scratch their head when they see the post.

Meh, you know what, I'm tired of you cunts anyway. Ban me, see if I care. I already get banned for every little word I say, while people can post porn unscathed. I post a topic asking if someone anyone wants to start a conga line, I didn't even post a link or anything, and I get banned for 2 1/2 weeks.. yet we had numerous multi-page topics devoted to conga-ing. I jokingly say 'fag' and I'm banned for two weeks. I'm being targeted for no particular reason. You may find my posts 'dumb' but I'm not really harming anyone on the board at all, and many people enjoy my contributions. And when I do make 'meaningful' posts, no one cares, it's when I make a little joke topic suddenly OMG U ARE DUMB LOLOL.

And this 5 word topic isn't easily glanced over? And, uh, it has more than 100 replies, most of which dealt with the topic at hand, so it's obviously didn't have people 'scratching their heads.' And really, what the fuck do you want me to post about? My sexual exploits like every other bloke here? Should my sole goal in posting be to entertain Sir Popopop? Am I supposed to spend hours at my desk slaving away, crafting enlightening posts? It's the Off Topic forum at a fucking video game message board, jesus.

Yeah, I hate goths just because all of them, at least the ones today and not the real deal shit back in the 80's which I don't mind, are all going to go "what the fuck am I doing?!?!" when they turn 23. All of them.
