Why hasn’t Ninja Theory released a remastered or DE version of Enslaved Odyssey to the West?

This game along with it's included DLC Pigsy's Perfect Ten, would be an easy money maker for digital purchase imo.
I am aware it is available for Steam and want it brought over to current generation standards.
They should re-release Heavenly Sword with a jump button also.

Is Namco publishing it originally what's holding it back?

I looked up the Publisher and it explains why. This is how Bandai Namco remasters games:

Just ask Tales fans, Xenosaga fans, and Dot Hack fans.
To be fair, Harada himself said that he pitched Xenosaga remasters and Bamco's marketing department came back with "it won't sell well enough". And while this hurts, I think that's fair and I am glad that he at least tried and told everyone about it.

Probably tied for their second best game with heavenly sword. DmC after they patched it and put out the definitive edition is their best work by far. Would absolutely play an Enslaved remaster.

Companies aren't charities and try to get a profit from their products.

To remaster a game has a cost, and Bandai Namco (who would pay it) pretty like considers that it wouldn't sell enough to be profitable because the original one didn't sell a shit.

So they prefer to invest their money in what they consider promising -regarding profitability- projects.

Perhaps because it's a cult game and had modest sales upon release.

It only sold 700,000 copies in one year.

Lack of recognition.

Difficult negotiations with BANDAI Namco over the rights.

I finished it, and it's a very good, cinematic game. I remember it was one of the last games I owned on PS3, before getting a PS4.

I wonder if he should get Monolith to purchase the rights back (maybe with Nintendo's help), that way they can remaster them on Nintendo Switch 2.

Them saying it won't sell enough is really funny considering some of the slop they put out every year or year and a half.

Because Namco Bandai was the publisher and probably still holds the right ... I guess.

Well, let them release it only in Asia and make it multilingual. How difficult can that be? I'd bet it would be a hit in Asia... If they wanted to import it, it would be beneficial for everyone.

They should.

They could really market the fact that Alex Garland wrote it too. "From the writer of the upcoming film adaptation of Elden Ring"

Edit: Wait it was a Bamco game? Hell, just go full sellout then. Slap some Elden Ring models and skins in there and rename it Elden Ring: Odyssey to the West. All the people who bought Nightrein would buy it sight unseen. EZ money

game is pure garbage, it already didnt sell enough copies back in the day, imagine right now, a remaster of this is a waste of money and time.

Also, if you want to play with better resolution and frame rate, just play it on PC

I have a back compatible Physical Xbox 360 version that says on the front includes DLC sexy robot trip. I had to google because I don't remember ever redeeming the dlc.

I'm sure the game had to have ran better than this video. maybe

this is how games ran on Xbox 360, or worse. People don't understand how good they have it today, especially on this message board

Sony own's Heavenly Sword.
Ninja Theory sort has a black eye at the moment. Do we even know what and if they are working on anything at the moment?

it could use a remaster due to how absolutely awful the original console versions were.

but precisely because they were so bad, with input lag and an uneven 30fps, I think many people didn't buy it. the demo probably put people off.

Both Enslaved and Heavenly Sword were fun. Its their output afterwards I don't care about.

Heavenly Sword is absolutely atrocious... might be one of the worst character action games ever made tbh. and I include those GoW clone movie adaptations like Ghost Rider and Wolverine when I say this. it was worse than both of these low budget movie tie-in titles. hell, even Knack is a better character action game 🤣

Why would they ?
It didn't sell or review particularly well back then, why would it now?.

It's not like Nier which had a very popular sequel. And it's not even like anyone cares about Ninja theory:

"From the creators of that multiplayer game no one played and that walking sim no one bought comes a remaster of a game that underperformed 15 years ago"

Nah, it's a good game. I played it again last year funnily enough, it was decent to revisit it. But they would need to rework much of the repetitive environmental design to make a re-release feel worthwhile. There's no way they would allocate the couple of grand necessary.

I played it back in the day. The story and characters seemed good.
But gameplay was a bit boring and repetitive. I stopped playing it after a few hours.
It's not a bad game, but it's also not a good game. It's just unremarkable.
I doubt there are many people asking for a remaster of this.

A female that looks like a woman and not like an orc? And has boobies? And cleavage? You're ultra cancelled! Please somebody should call Visa, Mastercard, Paypal and IMF, they must defund Microsoft, PlayStation and Steam!

I'd like to play this game. But I wouldn't spend $60 or $70 on it. Make a remaster that's a 4K/60fps and the rest is the same and I'll buy it for $40 on PS5.

How hard can it be?
