Why is Metriod Fusion so insane?

Dang I just beat the spider boss after dozen tries and now I have SA-X I have run from while I try to bomb a wall. Controls just arent as tight as super metroid, or console game do this fairly. I can't imagine little kids playing this one too well :lol

Little kids probably do better than you. I'm amazed what i could do when i was little, i guess i don't have the patience or time anymore.

Same here, I finished Ninja Gaiden on NES with only one life. I will definitely not repeat that anytime soon.

With me, it's different. Games I couldn't beat for shite when I was younger, I can kick there asses now without hesitation. My gaming skills seem to get better with age. Hey, maybe I should enter Quakecon and see if I can beat the champ. :D

I never understood the problem with the Spider Boss. It's a simple pattern than anyone who has played a 2D game can pick up. Think about what you're doing, don't just react

Yup it's all patterns I remember struggling with the last boss so much and now I can take him without ever getting touched , it's like dancing learn the steps and thats it.

I try it once every 3 to 4 months...fail...and then stop trying. I DO suck.
seriously, you shouldn't be having so much trouble. You're doing something wrong so try something else.

Yeah, I remember having some trouble with it, but it wasn't impossible by any means.

And yes, Metroid Fusion rocks. Easily the best Metroid as far as I'm concerned.

Wow, you people suck at games. Can someone post a pic of the spider boss? I can't remember what it looks like. I figure I must have passed it on my first try for me not to remember it. Maybe I should play the game again. I enjoyed Metroid Fussion but I give the nod to Zero Mission.

Fusion was hard at points; a harder game than ZM for sure. I would never once blame any of my deaths on the controls though, they are perfect. And it's not too hard that you get incredibly frustrated, either. Just a little difficult in some places.

The Playstation generation is filled with such weaksauce gamers. It's a shame, really.

Grew up on pong man
:lol
No I'm just being honest. Never said I couldnt just taking me dozen tries. Would like seen this on console as full fedged Metriod, its very well done. Would got some better button layouts at least. I'm starting to understand I'm not half way but near end of game, the difficulty makes more sense and save you time making more content P But I do appreciate GAF saving the typical I can beat the game without dying replies till later in thread. That was suprising considerate.

I feel Super Metroid's controls were tighter. And Fusion is definetely harder than Super Metroid.
I also think i'm better at gaming then when i was younger.
I agree about one point said here: the playstation/N64 gen did indeed create some serious weaksauce gamers.

ohhhhhhhhhhh that guy....he's the hardest boss in the game imo IIRC I almost stopped playing because of him too.

I beat Fusion in like 5 hours over the course of 2 days.

It was way too short. I didn't find it particularly challenging or anything. Definitely shouldn't take months.

heh... hehe... hahahahahahahahaha :lol :lol :lol

how quickly we forget about Samus' obesity in the past.

to be fair, stay ducked in the corner that part is quite unbalanced

What the hell was so hard about the spider boss? It was really pretty simple. I certainly don't remember dying against it.

Oh, that boss? I thought you were talking about that mechanical spider guy. I barely even REMEMBER that boss, so I doubt it gave me any trouble.

I just finishes this game yesterday and loved it. The difficulty is just perfect in it. I haven't had that much fun for a long time. The Spider boss isn't the hardest boss IMO. That honour is reserved for
Nightmare
. I must have died about 6 or 7 times on him before smoking him with three energy tanks left. If I recall correctly, to beat the Spider, all you have to do is
roll/duck in the opposite corner for which he dives at. This'll prevent him from picking you up.

I hated Super Metroid's floaty controls. I despised them. In fact, it was the one true flaw in the game and the reasons why either Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission are superior IMO.

I'm at that same place and I just started a couple days ago.

I hope that isn't the whole game, cause it was pretty short.

i thought the spider was the hardest boss in the game by far.

i did the same thing: couldnt beat him the 1st few times, put it down for a month or so and went back. not a good idea. you get rusty.

when i finally buckled down to beat him it wasnt that hard (once you know what to do). it took a few tries and he was toast.

the rest of the game was quite easy in compairison i thought.

he just has some annoying patterns and that grab move (which you can shake loose from). put it down for a day and go back. putting it down for a month will just prolong your pain.

good luck.

edit: pong was my first gaming experience too. :lol

there was just something about this boss that was annoying enough to make it difficult. but he is easier than he appears.

Awesome game. Perfect, ass-kicking difficulty. I'd say that boss was the hardest for me in the game. I don't remember how I beat him exactly though. IMO, Super Metroid is still the best 2D (or 3D) Metroid because it is much bigger than either of the GBA Metroids. But both Fusion and Zero Mission are great games.

Fusion rocks, a more action oriented, tougher take on the Metroid forumla. It was a much needed variation on a solid core imo, kind like Majora's Mask, Kirby SuperStar or Yoshi's Island. In fact these "off" games tend to be the best in their respective series for Nintendo I'd say.

Wow, that's exactly how I feel. I really liked Majoras Mask, Fusion and Yoshi Island. Probably moreso than the regualr series.

Fusion has super tight controls and some absolutely delightful bosses. =)

I don't remember having a particularly tough time with the spider. I might have had to retry once or twice, but it was nowhere near the toughest in the game for me.
