I suppose the 4 front USB ports are there to recharge the controllers and perhaps to serve as wired interfaces if for some reason wireless doesn't work. I imagine that if you put dozens of these consoles into a gaming room, the wireless airwaves could get too crowded to work well.

This still leaves the ports on the back free for the camera or other future interface device you might need.

As far as the extra ethernet jacks, I still haven't figured it out yet.

I am not at all happy with the same controller and crap from Sony for their third system straight (not even including the PSP).

You clearly haven't seen the PS3 controller yet.

I was thinking with all that support for flash media if maybe game companies would start making extra levels, weapons and stuff on flash cards and sale them for about 10 bucks 6 months after the release fo the game. or something.
