I am really, really disappointed that FHUTA was not re-banned. Worse than anything that was actually banned in my opinion. Oh well.
Why isn't FHUTA and other stupid junk like it not banned yet?

This whole list of what is banned and what is not banned is ass backwards. We can have pedobear, which some people truly find offensive and you go and ban Caturday which is only a mild nuisance but does not offend anyone except those with allergies. Then you have people who start dolphin fucking threads and don't get banned but if you post a Rick Roll'd, you better expect a vacation.
In this whole attempt to make people stop whining about how immature GAF is becoming, you really just end up confusing and aggravating people. I understand there needs to be some sort of rules to keep at 20K+ members from turning this site into 4chan but at least make more sense.
Maybe we should have polls where the people as a whole have more of a say over what bugs them (versus the squeaky wheel that keeps filling up moderators inboxes) when meme go crazy.

Wouldn't have to worry about this if such crappy posters weren't let in in such huge quantities.
Weekend GAF was born in the last couple of months (watch in realtime!) by people making "games that..." threads where people post "game X" and then someone quotes game X saying "joke post? lawl" It's not good discussion, it's basically a list thread, people don't even read the thread.
But it is an open forum, if people want to list the games that have the worst enemy sound effects then they can spend their weekends doing it. Just seems to have become a more acceptable practice to make a list thread in the week as well now which is what pisses people off the most.

I missed the sticky thread from yesterday, so I'll vent in here. Banning memes is stupid. Memes aren't the reason the gaming forum went to shit, the system wars are. It's a damn cycle, and the level of discourse will fluctuate unless you have a truly moderated forum like NGO.
The reason NGO didn't suffer a huge dip in quality is because a post wouldn't be readable unless a mod ok'ed it. That forum survived Deadmeat. Or rather, I'll say that Deadmeat brought a much better-prepared argument back then.
Without oppressive control like that, you're forced to deal with an influx of idjits that come to fight over brands. Both forums suffer as a result. The memes will always be run into the ground. This isn't the first place with that problem. Suck it up.

Are our collective memories so short that we don't remember seeing this same song and dance about two or three times now? It didn't make any sense the first few times...let's see if we get lucky now. :rolleyes
If nothing else, I'm consistent. I don't have to like some of these stupid memes to fight for keeping them around. It's a slippery-slope folks. We've been down this road before. PEACE.

Thanks for helping to keep people around here from having any fun at all, you folks who work hard to get memes and other such things banned. Why not just ban every single thing somebody else doesn't enjoy reading, and thus close down the entire forum because nothing else can then be posted?

Here's something that would have been useful to me instead of all the meme banning. How about locking redundant thread topics. Like on the OT right now there is another "I saw just Spiderman 3"/LTTP Spiderman 3 thread". Bumping an already existing thread is so seemingly frowned up on here that it encourages people to keep making threads when there is a backlog of those same threads already around.
Also encouraging people to use an official thread for something that is widely discussed.
