Why isn't FHUTA and other stupid junk like it not banned yet?

The problem with FHUTA is it's become a cry-wolf phrase. Whenever a topic creator has a complex issue to solve and the only real solution to his problem is FHUTA, GAF will naturally assume that the response is a joke and the poster will never take the advice seriously. Personally, I think this is quite a serious issue.

The problem with FHUTA is that people think it's comedy gold. It may have been mildly amusing at the onset of its use, but the incessant jackhammering of the acronym and diminishing returns have ensured its value is now nil.

This is what the people who love using it fail to get. "lulz jado ur a nazi1!! CENSORSHIP sux!" i dont think ive asked for any worthwhile thing to ever be censored. The cursing ban was certainly strange to me, as is the outright ban of any type of "nsfw" photo outside of that one nsfw pic thread.

I guess some of you really would prefer your right to post stupid, worn to the ground one-liners in place of just giving a useful word of advice, being a bit more original with your attempt at funny, or just lurking a thread. Were you all also spouting Austin Powers catchphrases after they were unfunny and done to death?

I think the problem with pedobear is that it has been done to death and people still don't seem to realize it. Every other thread someone photoshops pedobear into a picture and posts it thinking that they're the most clever little bastard on the planet and I just hate them for it.

I dont mind it. But its very predictable now, I see a thread about "Help me GAF girl problemzz" and I can tell you the first reply will be FHUTA. Im right 90% of the times.

Like all good GAF jokes... theyre good the first 3-5 times but then everyone runs it to the ground and loses the point (i.e Wollan's colored horny people)

Memes rise and fall, none of them should be banned. The posters who use them incorrectly should just be shunned. No one laughing at their post is punishment enough.

Yea...it seems like recently, a lot of people want more stuff banned. Granted, some of the shit is stupid, but, people would be crying if they couldn't joke around. I like the rep points ideea, even though, that seems like a lot of work.

Banning catchphrases like that won't even accomplish what you seem to want it to. These people are not going to post in the thread if they can't post their one-liners. You're not going to get more good posts, just the same exact thread only with a few posts taken out. They're pointless, yes, but removing them is equally pointless.

Who cares about FHUTA, the real shame is the "So basically" meme getting banned.

That is one meme that never got old, and I enjoyed every review thread whether or not I was interested in the game because of it.
