From my overseas trip thread - yeah, I know, not exactly figurines, but just thought I'd post on the topic of Nintendo memorabilia:
"But what I found coolest, and I'm sure this is old news to many here, but I'm excited nevertheless, is the crazy capsule machines everywhere around (you know, like the ones Ryo bought in Shenmue). Now Nintendo merchandise in NZ is VERY rare, so finding several series of Nintendo themed capsules was really interesting.
One was the "Gameboy History" - it had every GameBoy in miniature form - Original, pocket, light, color, advance and SP. Each had it's own cartridge that slot in the machine, and accessories. I only got one, but it was the classic, so I was happy - it came with what you see there - a battery pack (with cables that could plug in), fourplayer adaptor (which, incidentally, I have in real life, but never ever used), and a tiny Super Marioland cart (and I mean tiny):
Ok, this stuff has been around a while, but here's a neat pic I took of a display at a store:
You'll probably recognise the pepsi bottle caps and dioramas, but there is also a complete series of mini famicon, and SNES stuff. There was also another cabinet but my pic was blurry.
Lastly, something I saw (but didn't get a pic of) was some really neat computer stereo speakers - there were two styles, either a pow-block or a question mark block. I should've bought 'em!
edit: found a pic
Actually, I don't know why I'm posting this - I'm just easily excitable, plus I only had two hours sleep on the plane."
On topic, I actually have a cool ganon figure that came with his horse - it was part of a series of 2 or three, but Ganon was the only one that looked cool. Pretty close to his game counterpart, and pretty well done. Sorry no pics of that though.
