Why they are not constantly remaking all the classics - all the time?

Why a remake when you can just pop it in and play if you already own the original?
Because remakes aren't the same games as originals.

The reason why I want more remakes isn't because I want a replacement for original, but rather because I want to experience already familiar characters, settings, and story, but in modern, different way.

I play old games all the time, but that doesn't mean that I also don't enjoy to see their modern versions.

Is it because you want better graphics or just with more modern controls?

Enhancements on pc emulating makes most games look like a HD remaster.

If possible, I wish it was more than just better graphics - for instance, the upcoming MGS: Delta is just that, with only some minor changes, and tweaks, and to be honest, while I pre-ordered game to support the franchise, and will most likely enjoy Delta for what it is, I do wish people in Konami took more freedom with it.

I am very familiar with emulation, which is why I am not very fond of remasters, considering that we live in an era where we can make our own for all intents and purposes, in some cases even better than the official stuff - various shaders, upscales, HD textures, and decompilations.

Yet, there is only so much you can do with a remaster for decades old titles.

As for controls, dunno, I like how they evolved, and improved over the years, but to be honest, I never really had problems adapting quickly to any kind of controls, no matter how outdated they may be at this point.

Why not... Both then?

Although, frankly, from what I saw, when given a choice much more people will choose a remake to play after all these years.

They may be classics, but they ARE showing their age.
Other than graphics, can you explain how SSX Tricky and SSX 3 are 'showing their age'?

They play and feel like PS2 games, weight and physics feel outdated.

But more than anything else, they are available, and I can play them anytime I wish.

Don't get me wrong, SSX isn't THAT important to me, but if it got THPS remake treatment, I would be happy.

What game would you use as an example of a modern arcade sports game that adds more weight? I ask because…

…If you're talking about THPS 1+ 2 and 3+4, those were made to feel as 'PS2' as possible, unlike something like Skate.

It's an odd example to use because in the case of THPS I'd agree with you, considering they were simply trying to enhance the graphics and fix a few level inconsistencies. Everything else is as I've stated above.

Which games need to be remade? We are getting a ton of remakes. I get it, because some games are just begging to be remade to modernize (OoT comes to mind) but it feels like just a matter of time. Companies are constantly looking for easy ways to make money, and remakes are that. But we obviously want them done right too. Doing a remake with legit semblance to the original is harder than it seems, just look at the first Tony Hawk remake that everybody hated. You also have to pick a game worth remaking that modern audiences will flock to.

They made one Twisted Metal for PS3 but the online was busted and used copies had to purchase online pass. It was a shit show. Too bad, the game was fun.

Funny you mentioned Burnout 3 - Takedown. I'm replaying it right now for my YouTube Channel and my god this game is amazing. I would buy a remastered copy in a heartbeat.

Half-Life 1&2 need a remake imo and they would sell out.

How about make new interesting games for a change....
Can't have that. We simply must have recycled content and games.

Some folks seem to think remaking a game is a quick slapdash job, with a fresh coat of paint, when in reality a remake consumes as much resources as any modern day project. They can't have it both ways.

If they are made well then i'm all for it, it's not like the new AAA games are setting the world on fire at the moment ,i loved a lot of the games in the 1st place at the time so better looking remasters or well done remakes is a good thing to me, it's when they are remade inferior to the original's that spoils it, like the GTA trilogy etc, that doesn't help anyone, gamer or game industry.
