Wii-U - Amazon listing UK prices and launch date

Love Amazon UK.
And for those wondering I had normal first class delivery.
 
It amazes me how Amazon never dispatch stuff in any particular order. Common sense would dictate it should be in order of date the order was placed, but instead it's some random order.
 
Woooo! Card charged and premium bundle is dispatching soon on Amazon! I switched to expedited delivery last week thanks to the Amazon Prime free trial. I traded in a load of old textbooks to bring it down from £199 to £112.49 too. Fair play to Amazon for honouring the price, getting excited now!
 
My order is still stuck in "Not yet dispatched". I guess they won't do it until tomorrow. And if they decide to use Royal Mail I'm really going to choke a bitch, that crap is ultra-slow once it arrives to Spain.

When they listed that bundle first it was at £369 for 2 days, then went up to £399 (probably was a mistake to start with) and now £425.

Canceled my first pre-order to get that bundle with them and when i emailed them they said they would honor the price. :)
 
Shopto dispatch with DPD up until 5pm

about an hour and a half to go

I wish I could go pick it up, their distribution centre is only 20 mins away from me.
 
Like others, my sainsburys order still shows as 'preparing to dispatch' - but they charged my card on Monday - more than likely meaning they were getting ready to ship. I'm expecting we may see a shipping status change tomorrow at the earliest... got Friday booked off - don't fail me Sainsburys!
 
I am starting to get nervous about my Sainsburys Order.

I emailed them earlier today with two questions:

  • When do they plan to despatch
  • What courier are they using (so I could work out where I'd need to go if it got taken back to depot)

Just received this stock response:

We work hard to ensure all deliveries are made on time. Just like any pre-order item, we aim to make delivery for the release date, Friday 30 November. In some instances it may be the day or two after.

If the item is cheaper on the day we despatch it to you than it was when you ordered it, we will refund the difference to your card.

If you need more information, please call us on 0800 328 1700 or simply reply to this email and one of my colleagues will be happy to help.

So they've effectively ignored my original questions. I'm not really in the mood to play email tag with them at the moment and reply to their email - does anybody on here with a Sainsburys order have time to call them on that freephone number and verify those two original points?
 
I'm guessing Amazon expedited orders will just go out tomorrow now. They should still get delivered Friday, but still wish I'd stuck with 1st Class.
 
Every time my phone goes off to signal a new email/text I get so excited.

But it's never shopto.

In the end I'm off work Friday as well, but I want it tomorrow!

If it puts you at ease, that response is almost direct copy-pasta from something I received last week informing me they would be taking my payment soon. It's an ass covering statement in case you get it late. I'll be pissed with them if it turns out they took my money Monday, and have hold of it for nearly a full week before sending it, I'll tell you that much.

Thanks. Still pissed that they won't even tell me which courier they are using though.

They took my money on Friday and I'm still waiting. By the way, I had the same e-mail response when I queried them last week.

The funny thing is, I also had a pre-order at Zavvi but they said they weren't despatching any pre-orders until Friday so I cancelled it and kept the Sainsbury's pre-order. Now it seems Zavvi are already despatching and Sainsbury are still twiddling their thumbs.
 
Do the people waiting on Amazon have Prime memberships?

I do and my First Class postage order hasn't had any activity. I wonder if they're fulfilling the non-Prime customers first.
 
UK Sainsburys orders, I had chat with one of the guys on Tuesday about my pre-order, i guess it will relate to you guys. Anyway after getting the dates mixed up, i was informed that the consoles are going to shipped DPD today (weds) so they are ready for a Friday delivery. They was told that they was not allowed to dispatch to customers before Friday even though they will be sitting in a DPD wharehouse for a day or so. He told me its guaranteed to reach me Friday and i will be sent a 1 hour time slot from DPD for delivery. Hope that eases some nerves (mine too) he was sorry when i asked why they took money on friday and not dispatch day, i was told should of been monday or tuesday instead but hey ho.
 
I assume most of you people who received today, or has delivery scheduled for tomorrow, live in the UK? Would be interesting if international orders (like mine, to Denmark) also arrived early.
 
My free super saver deliveries havn't dispatched yet :(

I can't do 1st class in the channel islands as they keep sending via HDNL who are f**king useless (never turns up, gets stuck at depot for months).

If they use HDNL for my free delivery I will destroy them.

Just ordered a coffee machine with free delivery and that's gone via City Link....so will see what happens :/
 
My Amazon order has One Day Delivery to Denmark, and still no change in status. Perhaps they're not shipping out those until tomorrow?

In response to the second question, they use practically every courier under the sun. It is impossible to say until it has actually be dispatched but it could be DPD, Parcelforce, HDNL/Yodel, DPD, CitySprint, City-Link, Royal Mail Tracked/Special Delivery or bog standard Royal Mail. There could be other ones they use in your particular area. There is no rhyme or reason to how they pick their couriers.

In terms of when they dispatch, it could be as late as midnight on the day of release if they are saying delivery on release date. Again, it is impossible to say.

I said earlier they told me it was DPD and would get tracking info friday and a Text/email with an hour slot time for delivery, think they said thursday we would get an update of some sort on our account. I had a scary feeling it was gonna be yodel so they can leave it on my doorstop all day for all to see/steal.
