Wii-U - Amazon listing UK prices and launch date

I've ordered random computer peripherals from Expansys in the past and haven't really had any problems with them.

At £255, they got the cheapest deluxe bundle, so it might be worth pre-ordering from them.

If you can cash in NintendoLand for £25.00 you get a cost price of £230. Not great but not bad either.

It's no longer available from Amazon Spain:

But my preorder is still alive:

Is this thing really selling out like crazy two months before launch?

Just the Deluxe version or the Basic Set, too?

All sold out:

- Deluxe version.
- Basic version.
- Wii U Premium Pack - ZombiU

I don't know if other shops have opened the preorders. I have to go to GAME, Gameshop, Gamestop, MediaMarkt and Saturn to confirm it.

I hope ZombiU doesn't turn out to be absolute cack.

I'm really looking forward to it right now, but I don't want to be left with a terribad game on launch day. I could always just download Nintendo Land or NSMBU, I guess
for £45

This one does?

Alimentatore della Console Wii U.
Alimentatore controller Gamepad.
Cavo HDMI.

Gioco Nintendo Land. <------------------
Gioco ZombiU.
Promozione digitale Deluxe.

I am betting that is a listing error, Nintendo has confirmed this is not the case.

Turns out I preordered NSMB whilst drunk last night in town with mates.

Happy I didn't preorder anything else.

It's not like you can't cancel any pre-order over the next two months...

I pre-ordered the Wii U when drunk at 2am on Thursday, haha. I had no 3G in the pubs I was in and it was killing me. I'm such a loser!

This is nuts, how can it be sold out within days after launch date is announced? Are they launching 100K for the whole world or what?

Ah right, in that case it probably is a good thing. I put four Wii U pre-orders in online and cancelled three of them so I assumed you were in that situation :P

cause they want the media to report it as being sold out before and on launch.
Just like the wii.

then they will have big shipments arriving for Black Friday and the pre-Christmas rush
Parents do not dare not buying the latest and biggest console for Christmas in fear of it running out of stock.

It will be sold out in November, but late november early december it will be available everywhere again.

I don't believe stores even know their launch allocation yet. I would say they're all being very conservative at the moment.

As someone who worked in games retail management for the past few years, I can say that retailers do get a precise allocation number. We knew exactly how many consoles we were going to have for each major launch, and any extra allocation was completely unknown until the buying team told us of any (which was a very rare occurance and only happened with the slim 360)

I'm still waiting for Asda and Tesco to throw in and see if that mixes up the prices a bit.

Any word on region locking? I assume yes, because Nintendo.

Zavvi UK has the ZombiU pack for £299.99 and the premium for £274.99

http://www.zavvi.com/elysium.search?search=wii+u

They also have TANK TANK TANK for £23.95 which is the cheapest game i've seen.

Expansys's cheap price changes to TBA when you try to order it.... so yeah, don't go there.

Yup, they also give a 5% discount if it's your first order so you can get it for £285 if you haven't ordered from them before. I'm waiting to hear from Amazon about my request to have my June pre-order for £199.99 reinstated but if I don't get it then Zavvi is my next stop.

Can't believe that some people were doubting that a Nintendo console launching with a 2D Mario game was going to be anything but a runaway success, pre-orders are selling out all over the place in Europe and the States, and with the U launching with a Monster Hunter bundle and keys for the Beta of Dragon Quest X in Japan things are going to be really mental over there! :oO

So it seems like Zavvi have the most sane pricing range right now, where have most people in this thread ordered from?

Sainsbury's (cheaper than Zavvi with the offer code) because I believe their delivery to be more reliable.

Hoping someone even more reliable goes cheaper though.

Just to make things clear, Zavvi can't deliver orders to all European customers.
I just got a mail saying that my order has been cancelled due to the fact that they can't deliver home electronics outside of UK :(

Hi XXXXXX,

Thank you for placing your recent order with us.

I am sorry to let you know that we are unable to despatch electrical items outside of the United Kingdom.

We have cancelled your order and no money has been taken from your account.

You can re-order this item if you have an alternative delivery address within the United Kingdom for us to despatch to.

I'm very sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused you.

If there's anything else we can do please don't hesitate to get in touch and a member of our team will be happy to help.

Kind regards,

Honestly I don't think it's too bad buying hardware from Zavvi. They send all that stuff by next day courier.

maybe you can use borderlinx but there will be extra costs to that. as well as delivery delays

Unless you feel you need the pro controller immediately, and want both Nintendoland and zombieU, then the best choice is the premium bundle and add zombieU separately right?

Or might just get NSMBU, and wait out the standard ubisoft price drop during post launch drought.

So it seems like Zavvi have the most sane pricing range right now, where have most people in this thread ordered from?

Sainsbury's for me but I'm keeping a constant eye on Amazon.

People have mixed experiences with Zavvi but for me I'd rather just spend the extra money at a more trusted retailer.

Thanks for the heads up on these prices. Will have to make the choice between Nintendoland and ZombiU. I'm not ashamed to say I'm a glutton for Nintendo fanservice and the latest showing actually made me look forward to it. But having the Pro Controller packed in might be worth the extra money instead of buying it separately.

Shame I'm reduced to only getting black as a colour choice, but I guess I new generation means I new colour scheme.

Pro controller seems to be around £30-32, so assuming you want both Nintendoland and zombieU, the price is basically the same whether you get the premium bundle and buy zombieU and pro controller, or the zombieU bundle and buy Nintendoland.

I'd be wary of zavvi shipping on time. Don't know how reliable amazon are but they should be better. Tempted to gamble on a preorder there with the hope that prices drop due to matching a supermarket etc.

I don't think there's much to worry about with Zavvi for hardware, they're one of the biggest online stores in the UK, so Nintendo will be giving them a lot of stock, and the console will be shipped by courier, not standard post, which is almost always next day.

I have mine at ShopTo. Slightly more expensive, but I actually trust them to get it to me on launch (if not a day earlier), and I'll make most of the price difference back in reward points anyway. I just don't trust Zavvi.

I'm buying from a supermarket or will run the gauntlet and buy one from game if they give me a good price for playstation 3 and games. I''m also keeping an eye on amazon hoping they will match zavvi.

Update: My £199 basic bundle preorder from Amazon (placed before conference started, subsequently changed to £249) received an email update.....

"You delivery date for thus item has been amended to 3rd - 5th Dec"

Not been cancelled yet! Woohoo!

Probably - also, I have a feeling that ZombiU will drop in price quickly, where as Nintendoland - being a Nintendo first party game - will still be the same price 4 years from now.

Just done this too. With points I currently have, plus points earned, it's only slightly more than zavvi, and I'm more confident I'll get it on time. Premium pack.

Does anyone know if the ZombiU premium bundle thing also comes with Nintendo Land or is it ZombiU instead of it? Tempted to put a preorder in for it through Zavvi if the 10% off voucher they gave me works for console preorders...

£199 for the Basic SKU..? I thought the Premium SKU was £199.99 at one point..?

Instead of.

You only get ZombieU in the ZU bundle.

Awww that kinda sucks. I enjoyed Wii sports as a pack in showing off some of what the Wiimote can do and I kinda want Nintendoland for the same reason.

Is TTT2WiiU edition a launch title? Might get the Nintendo land bundle and that as it'd come out at just a bit over the price of the ZombiU one and then get ZombiU a bit later if it ends up being as awesome as it should be.

I know the benefits of Shopto, but I'm looking for the cheapest price, not the fastest delivery. Zavvi seems to have the best deal for the ZombiU bundle in this sense.
