Wii U Speculation Thread 2: Can't take anymore of this!!!

No see, that is actually possible.
While mine is impossible, thus more fun!

Gotcha. 8GB of memory confirmed then? AMD is right there too so Wii U must also be getting a Tahiti-level GPU.

Sony is clearly compensating for something with that 60x60 booth.

XD

Of course it's because Crytek bought Nintendo to finally enter the console hardware business.
The Wii U will be renamed UCry.

LOL. No Crytek is now a Nintendo first-party company.

Either Nintendo's booth is small, either Crytek's is too big. I think having a booth the same size as one of the Big 3 is a bit overkill.

OK. Just saw that reply to that guy claiming he saw the specs so was just wondering.
I realized why you asked. But no, all my info is 2nd hand. Well, almost all.

I am not even joking here. Timesplitters 4 has to happen. It simply has. I don't even care what console it's going to be on. Just make it happen.

They could make it into an awesome dudebro parody, with Cortez visiting a COD-like war scenarios, where he teams up with a weird british guy in a moustache, gets on to fight off an alien monster invasion with a buff guy with a bandana, then jets off to an invasion of red eyed Helghas... errh Space Nazis

Then just add some monkeys, robots that want to be loved, murderous gingerbread, dancing zombies, busty Jungle Girls and Harry Tipper.

Time Sink confirmed.

I just want online map editor trading. On the CryEngine.

Which is dumb, they had PLENTY they could have shown.
I mean, they spent no time on 3DS software outside of a short sizzle reel.
They had Xenoblade already being translated. They could have shocked everyone by showing it off there.
Killer Freaks was ready to be shown off as well, and yet. Nothing at the conference.
A small teaser for Pikmin 3, for heavens sake!

That's not really true, they had the thing with the screens (when they announced Luigi's Mansion 2), then they showed trailers of all the first party games, and then they went onto the sizzle reel and some e-shop stuff.

Also Killer Freaks looked awful at E3, showing it on stage would have made for far worse reactions than "looks worse than ps360."

So what are the chances that GTAV comes to the Wii U? Would Rockstar make the Wii U version the best one thanks to better specs?

Nintendo did everything they were willing to do to get Vice City and San Andreas late ports on the Gamecube. It did not succeed.

True, but publishers seem to be more multiplatform-centric than in those days, especially wih such high-budget, blockbuster titles.

But RDR never came out on PC, so who knows.

Well, Nintendo did hire Mark Atikson (former Director of Technology at Crytek ) as Consultant Software Engineer in September 2011. And AMD is developing the GPU. This meaning they have partners/affiliates really close, and with golden opportunities to demonstrate what their new system is capable of graphically.

As reported by Gameinformer in September 2011:

Crytek has been working with Wii U development kits and Yerli says that the team in Nottingham is, "very happy with the tests on the dev kits and they're excited about it."

Crytek Nottingham is, for those who didn't know it, the former Free Radical, the creators of the TimeSplitters franchise. Current announced projects of Crytek include Warface (Crytek Seoul and Crytek Frankfurt) and Ryse (Crytek Frankfurt), but what the Nottingham studio is doing is unknown. It could be TimeSplitters, a sequel to Second Sight. Or something completely new, maybe something to do with the recently trademarked "World of Atlantis".

EDIT: Antioch pointed out Crytek Nottingham is developing Homefront 2. Disregard the above ramble.

Aren't they making Homefront 2?

ha! you're late!
Certainly. I just wrote this in connection to the discussion about Game Developers Conference and eventual "teamwork" by AMD, Crytek and Nintendo there.

Aren't they making Homefront 2?
You are so right. I must have missed that when plowing through the heaps of text I read to post my reply. It doesn't rule out though they could still be working on another project.

I'm hoping for a Wii U version of GTAV, but if it doesn't happen at least I could run the PC version now.
...
There better be a fucking PC version.

Haha same here, GTAIV is so much better on PC it's not funny. I will be really disappointed at Rockstar if there isn't any Wii U GTA :(

I'm pretty sure GTAV will come to Wii U, wasn't it right there with the very first Cafe rumors on 01.net?

But then again considering THQ's current situation I wouldn't be surprised if Homefront 2 gets cancelled before long.

GTA V was hinted at strongly yes with them even saying Rockstar was one of the first 3rd parties to get a kit to enable GTA V
