I took the later in my assumptions.

Another thing for reference, is that the Subscreen is about 44% of the area of a 1280x720 screen. If my assumptions are correct (And we know what they are the mother of) with regard to what he's saying, and a developer made the Subscreen a simple 2 poly, single flat shaded texture then that would give the main screen a considerable about of extra "grunt" to do more with.

Again, the whole 2x - 5x bullshit comes to mind. Render two screens at once = 2x as sexy looking. Render to the main screen with as much grunt as possible given to one screen and we get 5x.



Oh god yes, yes! Ever since I heard about the Subscreen I have been dreaming of this. If it can work in another room I would be a happy, happy man.



Basically in the end we'll get a range based on:

1) Developer skill and effort
2) Desire to have 1 or 2 screens
3) The level to which those screens have sexiness or just purely functional graphics.

It's not so bad.

Tweet vanished very quickly. I Zdidnt screenshot it but I know one of the mods mentioned it in the gdc rumor thread so he might have
 
"Thunder Monkey" would be a pretty big name to carve into a head.

You run the risk of it healing up and the scar reading something like "tumber mopey" or "tinder moxey" or something completely different.

Then where would you be?

If he was PRETTY sure...then why would he be surprised at 1.5...not like it's gonna be 1.25 or something.

to be honest, we all are/were expecting 1 GB so I don't see how +500MB would make someone go "Wow, this is surprising" even for him that has contacts and worked in the industry :P
if anything, he should be more surprise-proof than us.

It's subjetive anyway, I don't know him, so I don't know if the amount of ram is really big (for Nintendo standards) or he just is impressed too easily

As for the ram amount, I think we can calm down a bit and just assumed 1.5 is what ideaman was referring to. He might have mean 2.0, but it's better to go with the lowest common denominator to temper our expectations.

I'm still in the camp that think we'll only get 1gb, but that's just because I don't want to get my hope to high up only to have my dreams squashed. 1.5gb would leave me pleasantly surprised and 2.0 would make me ecstatic.
