Wii U Speculation Thread 2: Can't take anymore of this!!!

Leave Ubermatik alone.

AC3 was officially announced for the Wii U and we learned about the middleware included in dev kits.

That's news... I'm surprised we got THAT much at GDC.

What this guy says.

You don't need to be band. You didn't say game, you said news. Any which way, Assassin's Creed III was announced to be on the Wii U, so that counts. Along with Nintendo making an agreement with Havok and AutoDesk. Not to mention the rumor that UE4 was running on the U. See, you won the bet.

Unfortunately, I did say 'game', but AC:III was officially announced, so I'm okay. Plus the whole Autodesk Gameware stuff -that counts as info.

Not gonna lie, I was expecting much more than this, hence the audacious bet. Sure, I'm off the hook, but it'd didn't prove my point or fulfil my predictions

Since we don't really seem to get any real news right now, I thought this might be a good time to ask for some feedback.

Currently open is what I'll do with the bag of money, how to put bg's avatar onto Goemon's face (the samurai), what Miyamoto picture to take to replace the guy in the mask and with what text to fill the empty spaces. Any ideas ?

Besides that I still need to fix quite a few things and the deletion of the logos so far has been rushed, so that'll hopefully get fixed in the final version.

Haha! Bravo! Is there any way you could make BG the count?

Nice job! I would love to take a spin at this if you allow :)

I'm seriously scared about the iPad 3. Minus the controller lacking, Apple is kinda releasing the first next-gen "gaming" platform.

Why? It's basically a Vita with a higher resolution screen. Also, touch-only games.

Nintendo will never get an all-out positive reaction from the industry right?

Sigh.

It just means that

1) Its competitors will be launching sooner than they lead us to believe, and
2) Third party support is still poorer than the others (which is practically a given nowadays)

Remember, Nintendo is doomed since ever.

Are there going to be any streams for the 3D Land event?
GDC Vault Recording: Video Recorded

This means that the session will be later available through http://www.gdcvault.com/. Some of the videos there are free, some are restricted to members (you'll need a Vault Pass to register). I don't know if "Thinking In 3D: The Development of Super Mario 3D Land" will be available for free.

Can you add my avatar?

Okay thanks. I'll check and see if they add it in the future, hopefully they do.

By the way, didn't IdeaMan tease that he would share something if GDC turned out to be a lackluster event regarding Wii U news?

Yeah, definitively, it's planned, until the E3. Nothing revolutionary as i warned 10 times in some wall of text of mine, but still interesting to speculate on for curious people :)
A pity that Big N can't find a third way between "we reveal everything the day one of the product conception and even tease about things that will never see the day light" and "total info blackout, 1960's style". With internet, you can easily control what information you give, to what type of audience. It cost nothing to reassure the hardcore gamers with a proactive PR posting specific infos on dedicated boards, and it doesn't spoil at all the real surprise prepared for E3.

And as everyone else, i hope to have some news from GDC. By news, i mean developers talking about the development on the machine, the interest of asymmetrical gameplay through the padlet, and some other topics related to professionals working on the Wii U and their impressions.

I like that Nintendo can keep secrets in this day and age but i definitely think they should release info to keep the buzz over Wii U going. Should they release a ton of stuff? No, save it for E3 but come on, throw the Nintendo fans a bone, jeez.

I actually like this. It gives them a mystique of mystery, what with the ninjas and all.

Odd, I kind of feel that the Internet makes it harder to control dissemination of information. Before, information spread at a snail's pace. Now, we get leaks all the time from various companies, even when they sign hefty NDAs. Except for Nintendo.

We wait in anticipation while playing the dwindling remainder of our backlog. :)
