It takes a while for the new consoles to really get solid mindshare, usually. The 360 took many months before it had started to outsell the PS2 on an ongoing basis, and PS2 software sales were solid for years, even after all the consoles had been released.

Cammie herself wasn't horrible (besides the fact that she knew nothing).
But her presence at E3 08 was abysmal. Mind numbing, even.

It will probably be sold as a GOTY edition, & those usually are pretty much full price(& going by the Epic quotes, they seem to have put a fair bit of effort into adapting it to use the subscreen), so I wouldn't hold out much hope for a budget release.

In theory she could have been great to reel in the 'expanded audience' that Nintendo was trying to hook, so it made sense to do it. But what they probably forgot was that nobody except the hardcorest of hardcore actually care about E3, and even though non-gaming publications watch the show I don't think they were too impressed either.
Best thing is still to have Miyamoto come out wearing a Link outfit and leading the show, an Oni-Iwata and Reggie wearing a suit consisting of Reggie heads. Easy E3 'win'. Where do I collect my money from Nintendo now?

Sometimes when people are too used to presenting they'll come off fake as that, personally I loved the clumsiness of the Konami conference, even though everybody says it was "embarrassing".

If there isn't support from Capcom, something terrible has gone down at Nintendos headquarters.
This generation made me realize I just don't give a shit about Capcom anymore. Nothing they make interests me anymore.
I just want them to release a decent Castlevania game on the Wii U.

Pretty much this. Throw in some Grasshopper Manufacture support and I'd basically be content for the next 5 years.
Nintendo's output on Wii U and 3DS will probably be lower than ever before. If they can't get third-parties on-board, this will probably be the first gen where they actually lose money.
Nothing from the AMD meeting, I assume?

And I think they're trying to bump up output.. if they're hiring and building like this, it's gotta mean sonething..

Nothing so far, though there were comments on AMD Fusion (APU) seeing strong demand in the gaming channel.
That would be contradictory to Nintendo's recent ramp up in development resources. They've hired a lot in both Japan and North America, and they're building a brand new state-of-the-art development facility.

I've never played an earthbound game
I want to but I don't have the old consoles to play them on. See Nintendo! You have a potential customer if you decide to rerelease these games!
I would've rolled my eyes at this a gen ago, but Monster Hunter Tri is the only third party game I bought this generation and at 297 hours, it's my most played game this gen. I'll be so dissapointed if my first experience with MH is also my last.
