Well, I can and for your pleasure I will translate this important piece of information (LOL):
"Our secret inside source confirmed to us that the Wii U GPU is more powerfull than the xbox360/ps3 GPUs. It is only the CPU that is somewhat behind. But the final hw could feature a more powerful CPU. It is still early to tell, but it is clear that the Wii U should have better visuals than the current consoles"
"Our secret inside source told us a secret. We said we wouldn't tell anyone this secret but, here's the secret. Wii U's GPU is more powerful, but shh, its a secret. Don't tell anyone this secret, because its a secret. We'd probably get ninja'd if you told anyone else this secret. So keep it a secret. Also, did I mention its a secret that's suppose to be secret?
SECRET!"
so nothing eh![]()
hmm if a secret makes a sound on the internets is it a secret anymore?Just go to the last page and search up "secret" comes up 57 times (;
you'll find one sooner or later, believe.#8969, Plantronics (headset company) hiring for possible Wii U peripheral development
That's really it. And I'm having trouble finding a good quality but cheap kilt to buy that suits me perfectly. So altogether a pretty blah day.
Unfortunately, the name Wii is here to stay. I mean, Wii has sold far more units than the NES in its lifetime, and the NES was so popular Nintendo's followup console was "Super NES". Then they dropped NES from the name when they went 64-bit, and the system flopped. Nintendo ain't gonna make that mistake again.Yeah. I still would like to move on from the Wii. I'd prefer not to still being play a "Wii" console in 2018.

The N64 flopped?
It stopped getting first place, at least.
It's shocking because everyone I knew and their grandma had one.
Oh well, I loved it. And their slogan too.
"Get N or get out"
Nintendo needs another badass slogan like that for the Wii U.
Well, relatively speaking. Less than 33 million units sold, compared to the SNES' 49 million and the PS1's 100 million. Of course Gamecube was only around 21 million...The N64 flopped?
Same here! In college, everyone I knew had a 64. I knew a few with Playstations, but the social aspect around their consoles was sparse compared to the liveliness around the 64. People would meet to play 64 games, but I never heard about get-togethers to play a PS1 game..Same here. The only kids I knew that had PS1s were kids who were rich enough to afford it and a N64. Everyone else had just a N64. I had no idea the PS1 was the winner of that gen until years later.

"You can only have two people play together? Lame!"

Yeah, those old Nintendo hardcore gamers weren't necessarily playing the same games, since the Playstation was what brought gaming to the mainstream audience. Sports games were big on the Playstation, so you'd have people getting together to watch football, and then play football on their PSX afterwards. Although the PSX with its long lifetime and huge library did get every genre, and I remember gaming get togethers where we would play Puzzle Fighter and fighting games and stuff. That was in part a chasm in social circles. The first two PlayStations had *immense* casual appeal, and that kind of player isn't usually into gaming get togethers.
Goes to show what I know; I've never seen one of those.Nobody had that thing.

(Then again, I confess to being incredibly ignorant of a lot of non-Nintendo/non-PC gaming items. I just don't care.)
Whoa. We get eight players for Mario Party. But that's about it.I had the equivalent thing for the Turbografx. It allowed up to *five* players. Nintendon't do that even now!
It's funny, Nintendo *does* do that...when emulating Turbografx! One of the Turbografx Bomberman games in the Wii VC lets you play five player, using a combination of Gamecube controllers and Wii Remotes.I had the equivalent thing for the Turbografx. It allowed up to *five* players. Nintendon't do that even now!
*I* would, but that doesn't really follow what Nintendo has talked about. They said one of the big lessons they learned from the 3DS, and were going to apply to the Wii-U, was that they need to launch a system with AAA first-party games. Retro's game might be a AAA game, but that's unknown (as is the quality of said Retro game, since the majority of Retro's games have been canceled due to poor quality).I had a go at predicting the full launch line-up based on what we know at the moment with some guesses thrown in. Would you buy it at launch with this line-up?
First party:
Pikmin 3
Wii U Play
Retros game

Random question: What's everyone looking more forward to on WiiU, BlOps2 or Warfighter?
I don't know. Either choice has big drawbacks for Nintendo, but I'd prefer that they take the safe route. But then what will third parties do when they have to unfairly compete against Nintendo's own first-party efforts?

I'm not feeling particularly charitable towards third parties, especially with Nintendo twisting and bending to woo them. Maybe they can, like, make excellent games and advertise them? I dunno.
So this thread http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=471151 has made realize that "WiiU" looks a lot better than "Wii U"
Maybe it's from reading the haterchildren in the other Nintendo-related threads today, but I'm feeling pretty damn nasty towards the rest of the industry right now. I kinda hope that Nintendo is seriously preparing for the prospect of having to eventually support their console almost entirely on their own.I'm with you, Nintendo can't make and advertise everyones' games but it's understandable if third parties are wary sales-wise regarding the Wii U but they should give the system a shot and see what happens.

If they don't take the company seriously, I care not one bit about their fates. (note: I won't actively wish them ill, but I won't care one way or the other.)I think they're always ready for that.
The free middleware shortcuts alone is going out of their way, not to mention if it's true that they listened to third parties as far as what system specifications would be desired.
Online isn't ever ideal with Nintendo but they've done their part, if third parties don't take the company seriously NOW, they never will and third parties are just posturing as usual.
Neckbeard detected. Can someone explain what the fuck I'm seeing here.

I hope not, because then I won't be getting one. Another generation of primarily Nintendo content would be depressing.Maybe it's from reading the haterchildren in the other Nintendo-related threads today, but I'm feeling pretty damn nasty towards the rest of the industry right now. However, based on what we are hearing, I don't think they are going to have to. It already sounds like they are doing infinitely more than before and third parties are infinitely more interested. They fact they they are finally catching up to the competion with their tech so late in the generation means tneyll st least get ports.
Well, I'm not going to reward third parties for their choice to skip out on the Nintendo console. Nintendo fans give their money to third parties for putting games on other consoles, and then they have the nerve to complain about poor support on their Nintendo machines? Really? I don't get how folks could miss this very simple connection. We may say verbally that we want them to make games for the Nintendo machine, but our wallets say otherwise - and third parties know it.
And please, please don't misconstrue that as personally directed to you - it's a very widespread behaviour that I've noticed over the past decade, so my sole intent is to speak widely on this pattern. It's incredibly frustrating to see Nintendo fans en masse undermining their stated desires.
We got a lot of "happy talk" from third parties before the Wii launch, too.. I could fill these pages with empty praise from developers yammering on about Nintendo's "bravery" and "innovation" and "history," etc etc. But the output - actual games on the shelf - didn't match the bullshit words. After the behaviour over the past few gens, I won't believe the happy talk this time until I see actual, concrete results.
