Wii U Speculation thread IV: Photoshop rumors and image memes

In your opinion, why i spent a few minutes to do that photoshop :p It's the only type of answer aside ignoring, that we could make.

The amount of catch-phrases akin to trolling in recent articles about gaming is frighteningly hilarious & shameful. The stigmata of the disgusting cocktail of social networks, buzz-necessities, clicks & advertisements.

I wonder if the author ever has a clue about how wrong they are. I mean, do they really write this stuff and say, "Yeah! This is some of my greatest work! So awesome!"

Nevermind. I should shut-up on the media. Been raging too much on them lately. They can do what they want, and hopefully Nintendo will find a way around or without them.

Q: Mr. Iwata, When will Nintendo start developing for iOS?

:P

Does every game have to come to every system?

And Crysis 3 is absolutely nowhere close to being as important as COD or GTA in terms of impact. The Wii U already has a bigger third party game in Assassins Creed 3.

Having Crysis 3 running on Wii U @ 60fps with improved graphics might tempt quite a few hardcore gamers to buy the first next gen console available that could handle that sort of experience.

Im not really bothered either i just find it strange Nintendo would not at least want Crysis 3 along with GTA V, Resi 6, Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider.

What happened to Wii U being a system for the core and casual and the great relationship they have with EA, not a good start imo to miss out on such an important game (esp for the hardcore).

The trouble is, this also builds up resentment amongst the Wii U owners.... and it means there'll be "a fat chance" of them buying whatever game they churn out next.

True. There's already a trust issue between some third-party developers and Nintendo fans. This kind of crap doesn't help.

To illustrate: I personally don't care what they do. Good luck to 'em. Eh. Whatever.

After the Nintendo Vs Sega, Nintendo Vs Sony, Nintendo Vs Microsoft & Sony wars...

The "Nintendo and studios willing to develop for their systems" Vs the rest of the world wars !

Soon, on VOD, DVD & BLURAY !

Forbes promotional catch-phrases on the boxart: "the so much awaited legendary confrontation between the frankenstein monstrosity known as the Wii U ship against the sleek & mature & neat & trendy & hype & fashion smartphontablehighendsystems of the badass companies"

i actually want to see new and exclusive IP's then the other things. i don't mind those games but how about starting over from scratch?

also think of it this way, look at the exclusives that were on the Wii. they were good regardless of the lack of HD. so now that HD is there, it's even more insentive. (for the developers that is)

Nintendo teaming with google for android would certainly fit the more unexpected 3rd party working agreements Iwata has teased in the past.

Okay, I'm ready, both there and here. :)

I prefer my fully-blinged disappointment bingo cards, but they take a lot of time to do, so I'll go with this one.

Oh, shit, only nine minutes left, gotta make something to check those boxes! ;)

There will be exclusives, especially at launch, where new IPs thrive.

RE Android OS rumor:
We've already had it confirmed that Nintendo would be using its own, much high quality, OS, guys.

Oh my. Maybe one of their spies spotted Nibel's work here and they contacted
read: kidnapped
him?

right, i say this cuz everybody wants to keep harping and lamenting over what current gen/established IP's are gonna be on the Wii U or not. i say screw it, i want new ip's lol.

...that would also lead us to believe that Nintendo is finally about to break out into the mobile gaming universe as well. Soon, we hope!

what? so they can complain about them to hell and back like they do with them in the regular video game market? pffft

I'd love some new IPs too. At the top of my wish list are the action-adventure-RPG genre, the stealth genre, and the classic cRPG genre (with old-school cleric/mage/warrior/archer/druid/thief classes, and humans/elves/dwarves/goblins as races).

Those are some main areas where Nintendo's library is lacking, so they'd make sense..

The Android stuff isnt that Nintendo would be using Android as its OS but that Nintendo and Google would integrate andoid into Nintendos OS.

Thats not that far fetched. Integrating android would make a Nintendo App eco-system a million times easier to get started with thousands of apps ready to roll day one.

Aww man Tom was right, this bingo business takes forever, not gonna be ready? :(

Timezones how do they work, at least it will be way early for E3...

Hey, if we start now, we can have some downright bomb-diggity bingo templates ready in time for E3. We'll be able to think-up some really good, unique squares.

But it would still go against everything Nintendo has been doing.

I agree. I hope it's true, there's a lot of good things that can come of this. Especially if the back bone is done by Nintendo for security purposes while the front end and what is usable is as easy as Android. A ton of apps available day one from the Nintendo Android App Store.

Oh, for fuck's sake.

Its not gonna be the way they think things its gonna be... someday Nintendo will make there own gaming phone. Not like the Xperia, instead it would be a phone fully supported by Nintendo, produced by Nintendo and it will have it own OS. It would probably still support retail games.

Someday... someday far in the future.

In which case, I will finally join the 21st century and get myself a smartphone.
Until then, it's a Jitterbug-clone old-man flipphone for me!

Has Nintendo said anything about including a hard drive?

Yes

Step 1: Go to your local retail shop
Step 2: Find a nice usb hardrive, from the large variety of manufacturers available
Step 3: Buy the shiny new usb hardrive,
Step 4: Wait for Wii U to be released
Step 5: Buy Wii U
Step 6: Open Wii U box
Step 7: Connect Wii U to TV and power outlet
Step 8: Makesure theres battery life in the controller
Step 9: Open Hardrive Box
Step 10: Connect hardrive via Usb on Wii U
Step 11: Power On Wii U
Step 12: Go back to store because you forgot to buy a game

:P

But serously nintendo said that the Wii U will take any usb hardrive. The Wii U just comes in with some built in memory.

You choose whether or not to have a hard drive with your system, that's their policy. I like it, because it means I won't be shafted on the cost of proprietary storage. Others don't like it, because… ??

maybe because external hard drives aren't fast enough?
