I think this (edit: electrostatic haptic feedback) is a fave because it's one of the very, very few items Nintendo could have that is (A) technically feasible, and (B) would cause a Wii-level mass stampede at E3.
Also Nintendo would get a lock on the Japanese porn game industry. Who's mature now, eh?

Will depend on price/perceived value. Regardless, here in Japan, there's no way I see this thing doing 'well' if it's over 35,000 yen.

Virtually nothing (maybe some niche Japanese cell phones?), but the technology has been demoed with much positive feedback and apparently isn't prohibitively expensive.

In that case, Nintendo would be able to advertise the hell out of the Wii U as being one of the first products to have meaningful use of the tech.
I'd say 3-4 million. Possibly less if the price is too high and Nintendo has no killer app.

I'm hoping we see another Wii situation where people are lined-up every weekend for the next shipment. Such good times.. except for probably retail workers.
Yeah, I really doubt it, especially if it falls close to either the Halo 4 launch or the iPhone 6 launch.
I'm looking forward to those standard pictures that they release showing the manufacturing plant. Thus far, we haven't even gotten a shot of a chip, have we?

Expecting 9 million sales world wide for a consumer video games console from launch, in less than six months isn't just huge, it's unprecedented.

I doubt it as well, sadly. I'm still being slightly optimistic though, predicting anywhere between 30 and 50 million sold over its normal lifetime (first 5 or 6 years or so).
On the plus side, hopefully Nintendo knows that this console will be for traditional Nintendo fans, first and foremost.
Could you imagine:
Durango owner, "Dam-it I scrapped the barcode, let me call costumer service"
Costumer service: "Im sorry sir without the barcode you have inefficent proof that you are the original owner of the product,please proceed to the nearest shop and buy halo 5. Thank you for calling, have a nice day".
Worked retail at the time. It was brutal because people would ask daily if we had Wiis. Seldom someone would ask if we had a PS3 & we always would have some but no one would buy one. Some people would get violent & angry if we didn't get Wiis in since they would stop by daily. Even had a customer try to "help" the UPS man unload his shipment.
I've been thinking about how Halo 4 would factor in as well, but it probably wouldn't have that much of an influence, as it's not going to be pushing nearly as much 360 hardware as H3 in 2007. I guess the massive marketing that it's sure to get would overlap/overshadow Nintendo's launch, though.

My guy friends in south korea tell me it's easy to make japanese girls swoon because they all come across as so much more masculine by comparison. Considering how hyper-sexualized some parts of japanese entertainment media has become, it's long struck me as odd that japanese guys have such little interest in real life women. *scratches head*

Everyone - myself included - is banking on a November Launch Day.
Nintendo could mess with a lot of people and companies if they decided to aim for September. Heck, even October would throw a lot of folks off.
I'd have to adjust work schedules, that's for sure..

I'm hoping they aim for an October launch in Japan, November for Americas/Europe. Mainly so I can lord it over everyone for a few weeks.
I assume they'll want to have a showing in Japan (in or around TGS) before releasing it here.

What kills me on that issue is that Nintendo's instructions are usually pretty darn good. Especially with them considering that this was to be sold to the inexperienced blue ocean crowd.
