Has Microsoft ever apologized for any of their gaming faux pas? I can't remember.
I never heard about them apologizing.
I can't imagine Don Mattrick having that smug smile on his face 24/7 and then apologizing for their press conferences.

I suppose, but my impression is that a lot of people have low expectations after last year's showing. But would anyone really be disappointed if we see Retro's game, Pikmin 3, a Mario game, new games by Good Feel and Monster Games (I like to think they're making Yoshi's Island and one of 1080, Wave Race or F-Zero respectively), Wii U Sports/Play/Fit, and maaaayyybe Eternal Darkness 2? And that's not including 3rd party games, 3DS, and a couple of other games they could show for Wii U, like EAD Tokyo's next 3D Mario.
I don't know, maybe my expectations/hopes are too high already.
for there own games though you cannot see goddess panties in Kid Icarus Uprising
I'll take eight!
Hmph, the + and - keys should be near the face buttons, in case you need to access them relatively easily during gameplay like you sometimes have to on the Wii.
Perhaps a bit too sterile? Nonsexy?
How so? I find it infinitely more sexy than the bulky one we have now. Just so much wasted space, I can't stand it.
In hindsight I'm glad we haven't had any big Wii U news or showings since E3 last year and that no first party game has been officially shown or announced. It'll make it that much more exciting and I think Nintendo will really bring the goods this year.
I would love to see it set up such that you could bring your controller over to a friend's house, and it would remember your saved game or your profile or preferences for a local multi-player gaming session.
It's a small detail, but it would be very much appreciated.

The list you posted sounds too optimistic.
Agreed. The key element is surprise. Just look at the thread that was floatng around here on GAF earlier today.. people want to be surprised. It's THE key element that ensures a good E3 reception.
Nintendo has this figured-out, obviously. Why a company would want to blow their wad prematurely, I cannot fathom.
I was talking about the analogs (;
Ahh, well, I have no idea how fix that. I like the way gamecube analogs look.
Catching up with this thread, have we figured out exactly how the streaming works? It's basically a Wifi signal and some hardware codecs, no? How much bandwidth does that require? Are we saying that the ability to stream to multiple controllers is processing power bound rather than wireless bandwidth bound? Cuz if bandwidth isn't as much an issue, I don't see why they can't at least have 4 player local Mario Kart with 2 players using DRCs and 2 using the HD tv. Nintendo's been mailing it in with the graphics in that series somewhat (I assume to maintain 60fps, which I wholeheartedly agree with).

I think that is definitely going to be a feature. Did Nintendo announce if the tablet will have any memory in it? The Wii Remote had a very small amount, so I sort of assumed that it would...
I do too, but I just don't think it fits the Wii U controller.
Time to make chocolate pudding...
Ok, here's the finished analog mockup:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2ih6O1xh7Qhow did House Of The Dead: Overkill end?
It's all unknown, but lag and keeping them all in sync which will be the hardest thing. Especially at the 60fps which Nintendo prefer.
The official website's list of features doesn't mention any internal controller memory, but to not include even just a small amount would be a step backwards. If the meek little Wii can include memory, then surely the amazing uPad can!
I kinda think Nintendo was not minding those rumors about the U not being up to par with this current generation. The bar was so incredibly low at that point..
Honestly I think the rumors have done a ton of damage.
As someone who works in marketing, I'll tell you, Nintendo has their hands full with the hardcore gamer's perception of the Wii brand.
Those rumors did a one-two punch.
The first punch was saying the console is underpowered.
The second punch was the rumor saying it will be $300 or above.
It doesn't matter if those rumors are true or not. What matters is those rumors spread like wildfire. They went everywhere. IGN, Gamespot, Forbes, Time Magazine's website, Destructoid, Slashgear, Kotaku, Develop-online, gamesindustry, etc.
And now there is a perception being built that Nintendo is going to release cheap slightly above current hardware at a big profit to please investors.
Is it fair that Nintendo and Wii U are receiving this perception? No.
And it will be hard for Nintendo to fix this perception. Last E3, people couldn't tell whether Xbox 360 footage looked better than Xbox 360 footage when Wii U was revealed. You have people actually arguing that the Zelda tech demo and bird demo aren't better than 360 graphics. Do I agree with that? No.
But the point is, Nintendo needs to come out swinging on amazing games because no matter what the graphics look like, they won't persuade the hardcore gamers on graphic. They've been brainwashed by the media that Nintendo is cheap. It's an impossible task to reverse the brainwashing in just one E3.
Why the hell didn't Sony kept God of War: Ascension a secret until E3? They need some counter-bombs to fight Nintendo and the Wii U this year.
Yep, and "kid-friendly" Nintendo approved that ending....

They'll reveal 90% of their stuff prior to E3 so that their conference will be boring as hell.

Hmm, that actually looks pretty good, Congress. They don't stick out much at all.
And I don't want to lose control of my life, thanks.

IndeedThey made one for Super Famicom too, but i dont think that it made it over to the US.

Fun fact, until recently, Overkill held the record for most swearing in a game ever.

As I've said before - it doesn't seem like a very Nintendo thing to do, but they should show a clip of a game from the Xbox and then show the same game from the Wii U - and gloat how much better graphically it is. That's the only way they can win these people round. I'd actualy love to see a cocky, arrogant Nintendo at E3 this time.
True, I'm absolutely convinced that a certain segment of hardcore gamers will never, ever consider Nintendo seriously. The only way Nintendo would get this crowd is if they're the only ones left on the market.. I think that this thought pattern is that engrained with this group of consumers.
The funny thing is, even if Nintendo shows titles and graphics that are demonstrably better than this gen's, that same crowd - and the western gaming media %#*!s that loooove to pander to this crowd - is going to deny deny deny that these advances are anything significant.
So while I see that Nintendo has an unscalable cliff ahead for some, I also think that the portion of the audience that still has its mind open to the company is still quite salvageable. My personal hunch/bias is that this crowd is pretty reasonable - indeed, a large part may be hoping for Nintendo to convince them, despite their reservations. But Nintendo's gonna need to bring the wood.

So you think Kaz Hirai was straight up lieing to a large group of major media reporters?I still believe PS4 will be talked about during E3
Wall Street Journal said:During a roundtable with reporters at the Consumer Electronics Show, a reporter asked a question to Hirai attributing comments to the head of its videogame division, Andrew House, that there would be no announcement about a PlayStation 4 at the show.
Hirai, who appointed House for the job, said they are not talking about a new home console now and that they don’t plan to do so at E3.
“Andy (House) is absolutely right in that we are not making any announcements at E3,” Hirai said. “I’ve always said a 10-year life cycle for PS3, and there is no reason to go away from that.”
Exactly. There's no winning when it comes to graphics for Nintendo.

"Man, that footage looked even worse than 360 and ps3!"
Foot, meet mouth.
