laughing because he does not have to pay to make the kind of hardware he is spewing out of his... ah nevermind.

somehow these guys feel like this is the hardware companies job to play catchup with their creativity

I remember the days when good devs would just work harder to squeeze every bit of power out of a console. Everyone would praise how great these coders where to squeeze a little more power out of a machine and get the visuals to shine.

Today it seems no one wants to admit they are lazy as hell these days, More Power more Ram? What do you mean compression? what is that?

So it really is the hardware makers responsibility to cater to this generation

Slightly off topic but complete awesome...I just played Smash Melee with a Hitbox (PC emulation)!!! Roommate borrowed it from a buddy of ours, completely melted my brain. I seriously hope these guys make a Wii U version if possible.

I know. I have to laugh at those who point at HD assets as of Nintendo is going to have remarkable trouble with {dramatic, ominous music in background} "the leap to HD." They're going to be fine.

(I'm doing my yearly run through Beyond Good & Evil this weekend. I'd love to see the HD version made available for the U, but Ancel broke my heart with his "immature audience" thoughts on the U. It's like these developers are brainwashed. Such a crime that this game didn't do better.)

A Hitbox is a type of controller (a "stickless" arcade stick) which we borrowed from a friend ours. What I meant was the type of stuff you're able to pull off and fast is insane, I had to wrap my head around it but it was cool. It would be great if these guys made one for the Wii U.

But yeah, I have no worries about Nintendo and HD.

Well we were using Dolphin to run the game, just using this particular controller. Might try Brawl too sometime tomorrow, that game really does look amazing in Dolphin.

But no worries, I'm here on GAF a while ago saying how I'm so excited for Rayman Origins coming to XBLA/PSN. :P

Man, listening to myself I'm turning into a Nintendo hater! Too many let downs and missed opportunities over the years to be positive. The only way to fix it is for Lherre to PM me with all he knows.

How did you guys survive the reveal to the Wii? It must have been even more excruciating, considering the lack of info and the whole 'Revolution' stuff going around.

Nintendo did a much better job of giving out info for the Wii at this juncture imo.

I felt this way about Kid Icarus... it just looked so meh...

So with no news I kinda feel meh about WiiU also meh because we had long threads about how lowly its power is expected to be just meh

So I need some serious game news to get me back on track I am very excited about the Upad though it will make a huge difference in my current gaming time

So I came across an article on Gamasutra from last July.
It's an interview with Iwata on the free to play model and how Nintendo isn't "interested" in it.
The way I read it, it seems like just Nintendo themselves won't develop any games with this model in mind, but others seem to seem to think Nintendo won't support it on Wii U at all.

I'm using this time to replay through a short list of my favorite games. After I'm refreshed on those titles, I'll be ready to focus entirely on the new console's library. For the last two Nintendo consoles, this is how I've handled the last year of sparse news and fewer releases.

This summer - after I make my big move (signed paperwork on Friday!) - is going to be a Super Mario Galaxy summer. I never did the Luigi stuff, so it's time for some Green Coins!

lulz now the ads are speaking to me... I better go to sleep and play KIU when I wake up leaving the WiiU stuff alone for a week or so
