This argument would make more sense if they were actually doing that!
What? Have they dropped that plan? Last I heard you had to pay a dollar or two to upgrade each of your Wii Virtual Console games to the Wii U versions...

If only there were some other added features... like Miiverse and savestates!
So you're saying that you didn't finish one of the best games of the Wii because of how it looked on your HDTV?I was just never expecting to get this to begin with. I don't think anyone was. I've seen people ask for it and they've all been shot down by fellow users over the past 10 months. It just didn't seem realistic because of the expectations that a lot of people have in here. Re-mapping everything to work well with a gamepad didn't seem like a strategic use of their time and in actuality it probably wasn't going to be much benefit on our end either because the games are on their way out.
Nintendo I guess decided it was useful enough to people to take this quick half measure for the fans. Probably due to games like Xenoblade releasing so late in the US. I'm one of those people, so I'm happy. I never did beat Xenoblade due to how the game looked on my TV and the inconvenience of playing a 100HR+ game in my living room. I can play it now.
Doesn't the Wii U simply contain a Wii chip inside of it? When you're in Wii mode, you're just playing using that bit of the hardware, right? If that's the case, I could totally understand why the Gamepad wouldn't be compatible.

I doubt a lot of people are still buying CCPro. But there was no way Nintendo could make Wii game compatible with the gamepad as a controller, unless Nintendo patches each and every game individually. But Nintendo could make Wii games that supports the CCPro compatible in a future patch. They could just spoof the Wii emulator thinking the Wii U gamepad is a CCPro.
What a load of bull. I'm playing it on my desk right now and it works perfectly.
Yea and the whole inconvenience thing. The inconvenience part is more significant to me. I'm just a modern lazy gamer. I love RPGs but I want them on my 3DS. I don't like to sit at my desktop computer for hours on end either.
This is like marrying Scarlett Johanson than finding out she has no vajajay.
That line is horseshit. They could patch in support on the OS level for the Wii Pad to be considered a Classic Controller plugged in to a player one wii-mote.
This makes no sense. You're just playing it on a tinier screen that still isn't very portable and the kicker is you still have to use the wiimote to play. I... actually have no idea about the VC. Was thinking you were talking about regular Wii games! Sorry! What? Have they dropped that plan? Last I heard you had to pay a dollar or two to upgrade each of your Wii Virtual Console games to the Wii U versions...

What's the point of this.
You still need to be right in front of the TV for the Wii Remote.
Can't use my tv right now, hoe do you enable games to display on the gamepad without the TV? I select the wii menu and get a messag to point the wii remote at the tv.

You're going to play a game on the gamepad in front of your tv? I hope you're doing it while the tv is in use...i have to use the wiimote to play no matter what. this is no new burden. now i can just play in front of my tv, then set it up next to my desktop computer (wii u console comes with a stand - it sets itself up like a mini tv), or play it in bed with the controller at my knees or on my bedside table. it's just easier. people are just in different life situations than you. i hate my living room - i live in florida and it has no AC.
Man that's very, very pathetic. Nintendo always does things half assed.
The Wii U still has a radio limit, right?
You mean distance? Yes, it's still about a room or so depending on the environment.

Does your desktop not have HDMI?
I'm in a situation where the tv is constantly hogged too. Yknow what would have been actually convenient instead of this half-assery? Gamepad controls for wii games that support ccpro. Like Xenoblade.
Have you tried holding B on system startup to boot into Wii mode?

I know that, I'm saying I hope you're playing in front of a tv on the gamepad while the tv is in use by someone else. Cause otherwise that seems kind of pointlessit is outputting simultaneously to the TV and the controller, so one could move from one to the other
Funny that starting tomorrow, I was planning to get back into Wii Fit to get ready for the U version. This makes it so that I now have a personal screen to do it all on.This is really, really nice for Wii Fit.
Someone is using the TV your Wii U is hooked up to but you want to play Wii game, or maybe you just have a comfortable position, or maybe you want to be a room over. It's more or less the same thing Vita TV is advertising.
