Wikileaks posts thousands of hacked DNC emails

So, these are the same guys who essentially helped NK with sonyleaks, concern trolled the Panama papers and are progressively becoming an RT dear, all the while defending harassers on Twitter ?

It's about ethics in campaign running. Fuck these doxxing shitheads and their oh so transparent agenda.

Sad they seem to have been against Bernie from the beginning. Oh well.
Of course they were against him, he was a guy who didn't bother contributing to anything w/ the party until it was convenient for him, and then started attacking everything they had built.

What the fuck. Why would you not redact?

When they didn't redact the names of locals in Afghanistan that collaborated with American forces Amnesty International objected. Wikileaks said that redacting all that information would be very time consuming and asked AI if they would do it. Not wanting to be party to any number of crimes, AI said no, and Assange said that he wouldn't waste his time with people who only wanted to "cover their own asses." In a delicious irony, these pricks don't care about collateral damage.

Wikileaks is gonna wikileaks but the DNC deserves at least a class-action lawsuit for failing to implement even basic security of personal information.

Wikileaks always came across more as wanting to stir shit up than actually doing something good IMO. This seems like par for the course.

You are perfectly aware that merely by running for the party's primaries, instead of as a third party, he already contributed immensely to the party.

They were against him simply because they had a much better candidate. Which is perfectly fair. As was his behaviour of refusing to help them until he had no other moves to play.

And pulling Hillary farther left to get the youth vote as the emails note. This info has a lot of interesting stuff to look into.

Maybe I haven't read the right emails but I don't get why this is an issue. Any plans that they discussed for Bernie didn't seem to have taken place.

This is one of my favorite posts ever.

You're literally quoting a paragraph about how the DNC tried to work with Bernie and he failed to communicate with them constantly and referring to it as evidence that they were trying to prevent him from winning.

People who spend their entire careers complaining from the outside generally don't contribute much because they don't know how to actually get anything done. See: Jeremy Corbyn.

Yeah, I was about to comment on that post as well. It's almost like he got stuck after reading the first few words of the email and didn't bother to read any of the rest.

And now youre just parroting nonsense.

It's ok to drop the hatorade now, kirbs.

I'm not. He and Corbyn have the same purity-obsessed alienating personality type that is an absolutely shitshow in a leadership position.

Good thing he isn't in one, then?

Also a good thing that the party realized that he has his uses. A tool for every job and allathat.

And dude, please, you're perfectly aware of burlington. You can try the argument that he'd crash and burn at the top if he had gotten there, but we also have evidence that he wasnt a shitshow in a leadership position.

Seriously, hatorade.

Did any of these plans/research actually come into action during the race?

Nah,

Like in response to this:

Wondering if there's a good Bernie narrative for a story, which is that Bernie never ever had his act together, that his campaign was a mess. Specifically, DWS had to call Bernie directly in order to get the campaign to do things because they'd either ignored or forgotten to something critical. She had to call Bernie after the data breach to make his staff to respond to our concerns. Even then they didn't get back to us, which is why we had to shut off their access in order to get them to finally let us know exactly how they snooped around HFA's data. Same was true with the standing committee appointments. They never got back to us with their names (HFA and even O'Malley got there's in six weeks earlier) for the committees. So, again, the chair had to call Bernie personally for his staff to finally get us critical information. So, they gave us an awful list just a few days before we had to make the announcements. It's not a DNC conspiracy, it's because they never had their act together.

It was:

True, but the Chair has been advised to not engage. So we'll have to leave it alone.

1) It's really bad that someone wanted to go after Bernie for maybe being an atheist.

2) It's good that no one at the DNC actually did this.

3) It's been obvious from the beginning whom most of the people who worked at the DNC would prefer to be their nominee. That's not really news? I mean, this is the establishment of the establishment.

4) Leaking "Social Security numbers, passport numbers and credit card information" and then having them reposted by The Intercept is a really shitty thing to do.

5) I'm very concerned about a Russian-lead push to try to elect Trump as president, so good job.

I wonder if/how this will affect Hillary's campaign.

I just realized I wasn't at all familiar with Assange or Wikileaks. Didn't know they were trash.

yeah, the exact quote for 1 is

It might may no difference, but for KY and WVA can we get someone to ask his belief. Does he believe in a God. He had skated on saying he has a Jewish heritage. I think I read he is an atheist. This could make several points difference with my peeps. My Southern Baptist peeps would draw a big difference between a Jew and an atheist.

like what the hell

why the fuck are they using their DNC accounts to gossip about sexuality? that's fucked up

People are fucking morons when it comes to chatting on work emails. Nobody ever thinks they could get hacked.

Also, having done a few more searches I still haven't seen any credit card numbers or SSNs in plaintext in any emails, but I'm not trying to commit pseudo-identity theft just to confirm or deny this so I still don't know.

Plenty of addresses and phone numbers, though.

Edit: Never mind, a search for SSN pulls up emails with social security numbers of people. Pretty shitty.

i'm my own supervisor at my current job and prior to this i've done manual labour only, so no

i don't see how that justifies that though? jumping to defend them for shit like that is actually really gross, guys
They're not defending it, they're saying this isn't out of the ordinary.

Like Teen Pregnancy, it happens, even though we're not happy about it.

Has anybody actually found any sensitive, personal information in these e-mails?

I can't tell because this thread is just people jumping to conclusions and saying shit.

All I see is "investigation into the allegation of rape".

He is free to defend himself in court. He is desperately trying to avoid that.

Cool, so wikileaks is just acting as an extension of Russian cyberwarfare and subterfuge. Keep fighting the good fight guys 🙄

It isn't even that much of a secret, looking at what Assange has done and said over the past years.
