Will GTA VI’s soundtrack heavily consist of 80s goodness?

Lots of 80s music in GTA VI?

I’m in my 40s now and the music that resonates with me the most is from the 80s

While GTA VI is clearly set in the modern era, the decision to place the game in Vice City surely must surely be based on the huge nostalgia people have for GTA Vice City, and a lot of that comes from the soundtrack, so do you think they’re going to lay it on heavy with the 80s stuff?

For me, in GTA V, everytime this absolute banger comes on in the car I know I’m going on hit and run spree…

As others have said, there might be a radio station with that theme but I would think most of the music will be contemporary.

There better be an all 80s radio station.

Anyway, there was a band recently from the 80s who came out saying they didn’t want to put their song in VI and turned down Rockstars offer because the pay for it wasn’t good. So it’s confirmed there will be 80s music, we just don’t know how much.

There will definitely be an 80's station I'm sure. But it won't heavily consist of it because it doesn't fit the period that the game takes place.

no. it's obviously set in modern times/present day.

there might be a station for 80's stuff but i doubt they are gonna go hard with the 80's vibe. just because it's vice city doesn't mean it has to be 80's.

There was a leak I can't remember when.

There will be definitely a Radio Station with 80s music. Johny Hates Jazz was mentioned with the song shattered dreams.

Did you even see the amount of Radio Station GTAV has at the moment? No doubt there'll be a few 80s and oldies stations but also trap and grime, etc, there's like 20+ slots on the dial.

Maybe they'll try to future-proof the game by having nothing but AI-created songs that are just "in the style" of all the various genres.

I hope so but we will probably get aload of mumble rap, Taylor Swift, Ed sheeran, you know, all that real gangster shit.

The most you are going to get is a 80s station.

The soundtrack is going to be full of shitty mumble rap, Sabrina Carpenter unseasoned chicken breast music, and somehow the rock station will probably be full of Twenty One Pilots or some other trash tier band.

This song is a banger. I'd be curious to hear a remake that modernizes the synth sounds because the groove, structure and hooks are great but the sound quality ain't the best.

It would be crazy if Southern rappers like Kodak Black and Rick Ross weren't in full effect. The game has TikTok in it. It's not a period piece like Vice City.

The songs I want to hear when I'm cruising at night with my freshly stolen car:

So essentially this vibe:
