Slopecrashers (heavily SSX-styled) coming to consoles August 7th

*meant inspired, not styled...
Get over the goofy characters and this one has some great track design and is a lot of fun. Been on Steam for a little while. Pretty sure it will be cross play and all that. They've been working heavily on their online / multiplayer functionality for a couple patches now.

Read that as SlopCrashers and thought it was the latest Ubisoft kino.

Game looks cute and fun tho.

Great news for a good game.

Heard good things about it but I could never get around the animals and goofy aspect of it, it removes the stylish aspect of SSX.
I had the exact same issue with Wave Break, which is basically the same thing, but tony hawk inspired instead:
Apparently it's fun, but... I don't know, there's something about the look and the animal thing that kind of ruins it for me.

I think the stylish /cool aspect is important in Tony Hawk and SSX, when you pull off crazy tricks / combos, and when instead it's animals doing goofy moves, it doesn't have the same impact. I don't doubt that they might be good games, but it's very different.

Cool for people who wanted a console release though.

Yeah.. was excited to click on the trailer, then I saw the animals....

Then it got worse with graphics..

And it got even worse with that sense of speed..

yup I am out.

This has NOTHING on SSX. NOT a GODDAMN thing.

Really? The graphics are not that bad...I don't like the animal shit but the game is definitely fun.

Compared to say -

This is the only thing even comparable for modern ssx type games. I personally dislike Tricky Madness graphics, also the snow doesn't deform it looks like shit like you're just gliding.

I think Tricky Madness still has a ways to go so I don't want to count it out, but I also think this is why Slopecrashers needs a demo (and I hope it comes with the console release), so that I can respond to posts like //DEVIL// //DEVIL// 's and suggest he should try it.

With that name, the city track, and other obvious inspirations, I'm a little surprised EA legal hasn't been summoned.

Console peasant and old school arcade style action sports game guy checking in.

Looks fun enough, as long as it controls well. I am okay with the wacky animal vibes I suppose, but couldn't they also add in some human skins? I mean, what does it hurt in the grand scheme of things? Let players choose to be a person or an animal. It's just a few more skins.

I'd play a demo of this if they release one.

Not gonna lie - if the intention was to promote this as 'BootLeg SSX' they've succeeded 150% - and by bootleg I mean one of these:

I guess it could still be fun - but the presentation really is an active detractor here - it'd be far more interesting had they gone for an original look instead.

Yea this doesn't look good either (and it's a more blatant copy for sure) but that doesn't make the first game retroactively better.
Also I mostly ignore EA stuff until well - it gets to something resembling a release date.

There was a demo at one point during one of steam's next fest things.

There's a listing for the xbox version though:

Appreciate the lookout! I'm on PS5 and Switch 2 haha

Yeah was hyped when I opened this trailer but left with sadness and disdain.

Shame on you OP!

I played Tricky Madness and it's absolutely amazing. I even made a thread about it not long ago, but many people in that thread had a negative reaction too, I'm really not sure why:

It's obviously still in an early state, but the gameplay is already really good and it's really shaping up to be what I want out of a SSX clone, it's the closest thing to SSX that I played. I spent hours just trying to perfect my scores on each track, the gameplay is great enough to want to do that.
