Will Ken Levine's Judas ever get released?

I remember watching the BioShock and BioShock infinite developer videos. And what I learned from that was:

- Ken is a perfectionist who comes up with new ideas all the time but also likes to change his mind quite often, even after a lot of work and times has gone into some of his ideas.
- Ken likes to work with smaller teams and take his time.
- It took irrational 8 years to develop BioShock and 6 years for BioShock Infinite.

This ain't coming out until late 2026 or 2027 I fear.

CDPR: Announces Witcher 4 in 2024 so it will release in 2028

Nintendo: MARIO KART IN 2 MONTHS

Oh My God Wow GIF
*6*

Nintendo occasionally announces things way too early and it doesn't work out (Metroid Prime 4 in 2017), or BotW 2 in 2019 when development had just begun, but it still is good to sometimes let people know some of these big games are coming, they're just gonna be a wait. Normally I prefer the 6-9 month gap from announcement to release. It's the perfect amount of time to build hype and not be let down by something that was being made for too long and barely resembles the initial concept (Avowed).

To me my biggest issue isn't long devs cycle but instead announcing game waaaaaaay too fucking early when they have nothing to show other than title card or CG trailer.

Announce the game when the game is actually ready to get announced, not only it will takes pressure off from devs themselves but also it's waaaaay more exciting when the game is close to release.

Levine was on a few podcasts and youtube interviews recently enough talking about the game plenty
It's definitely not vapourware, he just doesn't give a crap about promoting the game before it's finished or at least I got that impression anyway

I mean lets be honest, it's ken levine, when a new game by him comes out it's going to do well.

I've been wondering about this too, I was definitely hoping to play it in 2025.

It's eerily reminiscent of what went wrong with Bioshock Infinite, the original Bioshock famously did not start off with Rapture, Andrew Ryan etc, but in an effort to recapture that lightning in a bottle a second time it seems like Ken has let himself be taken over by too much indecision, it's bad enough it's been over a decade since his last game, it's especially surreal if this one doesn't come out before the 20th of Bioshock 1.
