If I understand the expectations of the next generation consoles and games on them, the cost for producing games is going to increase quite a bit (at least until there are better development tools available).
The big part of this cost will be in the creation of content (3d-modelling, textures, animation), the coding seem to be more complex but by the same amount?
So would this mean that we will see more games going to multiple platforms (not like the PS2/PC/Xbox, Xbox/PC situation of this generation)? Since the content could be reused (performance will be about the same) it should "save" money?
Or are the money hats, fanboy loyalty and media attention for exlusive titels more important?
