Will Nintendo triple dip on the new switch and will you buy it?

Predicts the worst decade for Sony starting 2022
I would bet you my entire gaming collection that Nintendo is going to be coming up with new ways to recycle old material. I can almost guarantee we are going to see games like: Zelda BOTW (remastered) or Mario Kart 8 (super duper remaster) , Tears of the kingdom redone along with so many more Nintendo switch hits. Mind you that many of these games were on the WiiU already and the Switch was their second platform.

I think the whole remaster and remake trend is getting silly. I am ok if a classic game decades ago gets remade to bring it to a new audience. I am not ok with remaking games less than 10 years old and slapping a new coat of paint on it and calling it ok. I myself may buy an occasional remake that brings a much older game to a new generation but refuse to pay for the lazy remasters where it's just a fresh coat of paint and in some cases it is hard to tell. Thats just me. But how do you feel about it? Do you love all the remakes and remasters instead of those developers spending time making new games or do you hate it? Maybe you are like me and buy the occasional remake if it makes a dramtic improvement or like my frriend who buys any remaster under the sun. How do you feel about it?

I hope that they at least offer some upgrade path, like with Zero Dawn Remake,
But some games i would likely buy at full price too

I would love to buy the Mario Galaxy games digitally, but for some reason I can't.

Parody of actual AJUMP23
I would probably pay for better looking Mario kart.

The current Mario kart would be tough to beat unless they release one with new tracks and then every track ever all time.

If I liked tears of the kingdom as much as botw, I'd pay full price for a really good re-release, as I have not put much time into it. I was disappointed with the game, though. The building is clumsy, tedious, and you can't go very far without being asked to do it.

I don't think they will re-release Mario Kart 8. I also don't think they would re-release BOTW, although TOTK possibly with new content.

All they gotta do is put Wind Waker HD on it and I’ll buy their console.

I’d actually love a BOTW remaster. Better game then the vast majority of shit that has come out on PC, PS4/5, and Xbox. Also before anybody dipshit tries to come in and say I can already play the remaster on PC fuck off.

Playing it in 4K 60 fps with better LOD and shadows on CEMU is the closest to a remaster you'll get for a while.

Well excuse me for being skeptical of Skipp93653

I wouldn’t buy BOTW again if that is the question.
It was a response to Midori datamining an 'U-King-O' codename. And yes, Midori the bullshit Sega/Atlus leaker and all that, but he seems to have a good track record with datamining; he was the first person to talk about Project Jordan from Naughty Dog, and I believe that he also leaked the Super Mario Party Jamboree codename.

Well like I said I’m not interested in BOTW when TOTK exists and all a BOTW rerelease would do is have people demand TOTK.

They should rework Bayo3, that game struggled on Switch. I’m also not planning to buy a switch 2 until an OLED comes out.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
I'd be willing to pay for upgraded re-releases if they actually do some significant upgrades. I'm guessing Switch 2 will iron out the myriad performance issues in a lot of games, but I'd be willing to shell out for significant improvements - not just more FPS - in stuff like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 or Astral Chain.

Yes, Nintendo will dip as many times as they can because their die hard idiots fans are happy to keep buying.

Yes, I'll buy a Switch 2 but probably not until a year or so into it's life unless there's a must have release (Prime 4).

No, I won't be buying their old games again.

New hardware makes me a little nuts, but thinking back, I really only rebuy Nintendo games if I get at least two out of the following three:
1. there's a significant upgrade
2. I want to replay it that very minute
3. it's on sale for a significant discount (30%+)

Otherwise, old games stay in the retro library where I can play them if I can be bothered to plug in an old console. If I don't care to take that much trouble, then I don't really want to play them.

Steam, on the other hand, I double dip on constantly. Games are always going on sale there, and it seems like a stable platform for a true library/archive where I can access my favs for life. Probably also foolish, but I'll own that.

It seems like they will considering the BotW Remaster code name leak, which seems very likely to happen given both Mario Party Jamboree and Echoes of Wisdom was part of it, and correct.

I would not purchase a full priced $70 remaster though, especially not if games are backward compatible.

I might purchase a patch for games I want to re-play if they offer it for a small cost.

Although I could see them offer these patches/updates of Switch 1 titles as part of their online service. I think that’d be pretty nice.

I'm not autistic enough to keep buying and playing remasters and remakes. There has to be a really good and original game to get me to buy the Switch 2. I barely play my Switch as it is.

Smash can work, since we got a lot of updates after Ultimate's launch, but Mario Kart needs to have a new thing, so needs to be a new game

Still, the already launched games could get a enhancing update, and maybe a relaunch of some popular titles

Can't see they doing more than that
