Will third party exclusives be non existent for PS6

Do you think there will still be timed exclusives third party developers for PS6. We know Rockstar is doing it with GTA 6. But will that be the last third party timed exclusive? Seems like Square, Capcom, Namco, Sega etc are all riding the multiplat wave.

By timed exclusives I mean no PC at launch.

I dont know why 3rd parties ever even do exclusives anymore. Makes sense for sony first party to still let the console have its time in the sun

Yes, it just comes down to money. If Sony wants to write a big enough check, some dev or publisher will say yes.

Pretty much. Everything will go to PC.

Just look at FFXVI, Stellar Blade, and Rise of the Ronin. Nintendo will likely still push for some timed ones, but so far almost all those have been ported as well.

Already we see a lot of games that are PC and Switch only. Some big AAA 3rd party games will skip Switch 2 or be delayed while they work on the ports, and seemingly some small indies and niche Japanese games will skip Playstation 5 and 6.

Square has dropped all exclusives... (*barring a super big deal id imagine ).
MS bought up everyone else.

Now I think its the opposite.. its not who has the exclusive its more who gets left out... ( looking at your MS)

After defeating Sega, Nintendo, and Xbox. PS is facing its major foe; Gabe and his monopoly called Steam, and for that, Exclusives are back on the menu boyz!!

Third party?

Odds are first party won't be either.

I would say maybe AA games, perhaps games which would not happen without a cash injection by Sony.
And mostly timed exclusive, not permanent ones.

They're making a big comeback next gen imo. You can already see Switch 2 starting out with some 3rd party full or timed exclusives.

There just wasn't much need to have them so much last gen (Nintendo had no direct handheld competition, and Sony basically killed the Xbox in the market by 2022-2023), so 1st parties were very selective about it and probably didn't offer much money for them.

This is also why both Sony and Nintendo are making record profits, because they're largely keeping the powder dry.

Next gen Sony is coming out with a handheld (and maybe making a PC storefront), and Nintendo will look to eat more out of the PS5/6's marketshare in the EU, ROW and US. The motivation is back again.

Doubt it unless they fully fund someone's game like Kojimbo.

Nioh 1 and 2 were timed exclusives for Sony, and Nioh 3 is day 1 on PC. Games are selling a lot on PC now, makes no sense to forego like half of your sales in some cases.

Well, they are going to have the only big graphics capable console, so unless they put everything on PC as well at all times, they will have exclusive

...

Mm? What are you saying?

What the fuck is an Xbox?
