Tomorrow's final with Federer vs. Roddick will pale in comparison to the classic we all saw today. I think Federer beats Roddick in straight sets. I predict 6-4, 7-6, 6-2 for the Federer's third straight Wimbledon title. You heard it here first.

I haven't seen a tennis match in years but I saw Venus earlier this week when her Sharpanova match pre-empted Days of Our Lives, was rooting for her as she destroyed that teenage phenom...
then I saw part of the Davenport match earlier on replay on ESPN....
then today I woke up and the match was about 1/2 over I think...
man was this a good match or what...
I was cheering for Venus the whole time but it has me nervous, giddy, and excited with all the ups and downs...
TOTALLY CLASSIC...
several phone calls were distracting me but I didn't want to turn away from the TV....

Seriously, women's tennis tend to be too slow for my taste. Only reason why I would watch them would be gawk at the likes of Sharapova. BTW, anyone know what happened to Jelena Dokic? Seems like she disappeared since a year or two ago. She was cute.....

federer is the most amazing player i've ever seen, he's just, wow.
i think he really has the complete game, in every sense. his shots are astounding and often unbelievable, and also he's an incredibly entertaining player to watch.
federer is in a league of his own, watching him play is awe inspiring!

Man speaks the truth. The russian ice princess grunts and squeels like a pig, and not a cute little pig either. And when healthy, the Williams dominate the womens game even more so than Federer is dominating the men (alright, maybe not that much. I must've stopped paying attention to tennis for longer than I thought. Last time I watched consistently, the mens side used to be competitive, now it's a one man show)DaddyZ said:

Its clear that other players on the tour have caught up to them, even when they're at their best. Before they'd just roll right over the competition in tournaments, now you see Venus in Wimbledon where many say she was playing the best she ever had and she struggled against several players. It's no longer a sure bet that they'll win like it was before even if they're in good condition. You need look no farther than last Wimbledon where most expected Serena to win and Sharapova destroyed her (she leads matches against Serena 2-1).

And Federer is probably playing the best tennis I have ever seen in my lifetime. I have been watching tennis since the early 80s and some things have yet to be surpassed. Still haven't seen anyone volley as well as Mac or dominate with a serve like Sampras, but Federer makes a very difficult game look incredibly easy. It is too early to label Roger as the best of all time, but I have never seen any human being play at this level for any period of time. The guy is just incredible. Too bad most Americans don't care for tennis because they are really missing out on something.
